What was the first thing you purchased for your big day?

My first thing I got out the way was venue. I knew if I got it booked things would flow on my list. Next I'll be purchasing my bridesmaids proposals. What is the the first thing you bought for your wedding?

I had all of those booked within 4 months of getting engaged and felt like I could relax a little afterwards!

Maybe the photographer, I would say - since we booked her immediately after the engagement photos!

But first purchase as an engaged couple was the venue I would say - then everything else has fallen into place. Smiley smile

The first thing I purchased was a cake stand. I was walking around homegoods and found it tucked away on clearance. I had been engaged about 6 months and I said to myself "hey, I can finally buy stuff for my wedding and not seem like a crazy person. I got the ring!" lol So I bought it right then.

The first thing we/I bought for the wedding was a date sign for our engagement photos. We will be displaying it at the wedding somewhere to get a little more use out of it.

I started with my cake. First thing first a cake topper and then design,... I must have looked through hundreds of pictures of both cake toppers and cake designs. I am so excited about the cake, we have a tasting this month. Gonna go with my first idea of Lemon cake with Raspberry filling and buttercream frosting.

We did artificial flowers for my sisters wedding and we got them all on sale 50% off at Hobby Lobby and they are beautiful, and they were fun to play with at the store to create the perfect bouquets. I have decided to get real flowers from Costco.com but have gone to Hobby Lobby to play with the flowers to decide on how many to order.

My honey calls me a crazy person for buying wedding stuff... but I am hoping to have it all paid for myself by the time my wedding gets here. Saving a little every check. Things add up quick. I decided to spread out the cost of the smaller items and pick them up as I find them.

My dress!! That's how I finally got a date set for our wedding. I told him I was going to look at dresses(wasn't planning on buying anything) and he was like but we don't have a date. I said yes we do, I've had this date picked for awhile and just kept coming back to it. So I told him April 4th 2020 and he loved it.

The first thing I bought was the wedding dress because I was caught up in the excitement and it was on sale for $300 from DB. The first thing we bought together was the down payment for the venue.

Our venue. We just signed this past Saturday and we are thrilled. The venue is all inclusive so many things will be taken care of.

We're actually working on booking the venue now, so that first. Then caterer and our videographer and photographer next.
