What type of wedding venue?

Clíodhna, on October 23, 2019 at 10:05 AM Posted in Planning 1 37

There are so many venue types to choose from for your wedding celebrations: barns, boats, wineries, country clubs, hotels, and museums are just a few!

What type of venue are you getting married at?

We are getting married in a ballroom of a hotel/ conference center. We are partitioning off one section of the ballroom for a ceremony space with plain white folding chairs for people to sit in. Then other space will be used for the reception to follow the ceremony.

I got married at the Lemp Mansion in their Gazebo, had the reception there too. Outside. It was gorgeous. I had always wanted an outdoor wedding, but worried about weather in my area as it can be unpredictable. I first went to the Lemp with my, now, Husband. He suggested the venue if we were to ever get married and it kind of snowballed from there into the place we actually chose. Plus, it had back up options for most any weather such as rain, snow, cold, etc -- the tent could have its sides pulled down, I could get a fire going in their outdoor fireplace, and it just had a lot of pro's to it. We also had a Harry Potter themed wedding, so the dated look of the house and the tent like atmosphere kinda made me feel immersed in a magicalesque type feeling that was reminiscent of the Weasley wedding -- now that I think about it. Haha.

We had a backyard wedding, but if that hadn’t been possible, we would have started our venue hunt with vineyards and breweries

We are getting married at an aviation museum down the street from NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Our ceremony will be on the tarmac with a Blue Angel's F-18 instead of an arbor. Our reception will be in an airplane hangar Smiley smile If you couldn't tell, we both love airplanes lol

We're getting married in a 1920's building with exposure brick and old hardwood on the floors & ceiling! The ceremony & reception will be inside!

We have a barn venue. Ceremony outside in a small garden and reception inside the barn. All four sides open up so much so that it almost seems as if it's outside.

    Country club!

It's all-inclusive, so we'll be doing everything there (getting ready, pictures, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception).

We're getting married at a winery. For the ceremony, we'll have the lake as our backdrop and then for reception, it is in their pavilion which have the options to have it open, or closed depending on weather.

Mine is a bar/restaurant. The venue has such a variety. The courtyard is beautiful and has all kinds of twinkling lights. The rafter room looks like an old dark speakeasy with a hidden bathroom behind a bookcase. The bottom floor has a bar/restaurant, arcade, and pool tables. I wish I was getting married in that library above, though 😍

We got married at a vineyard. There was also a barn on the property that we used for portions of the cocktail hour/reception.

We chose country club, as it has alot of amenities. Also, beautiful scenery for pictures and does not feel overcrowded.
