What to do after RECEPTION?

Strwpink, on March 23, 2011 at 3:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

So we're having a small reception dinner at a restaurant with no dance floor, but we're trying to figure out what our guests are gonna do afterwards seeing that the dinner's over at 9? Does anyone have any suggestions? Dance club, bar?

After party! go to a fun bar play pool, kareoke, dance and drink! but you all have to be in your wedding attire... that's what makes it more fun!

If you have enough people, you may be able to get your own room somewhere, but you can also keep your plans flexible. My cousin had a regular Saturday evening wedding in the city, and a lot of the younger people went out after near the hotel and did sort of a bar crawl. I'm having an afternoon wedding and may at least plan the starting point. My cousin's wife went out in her wedding dress, though since we have time I may change clothes.

I say after party. Our reception was over at 6pm so we had everyone meet up at 10 at a bar in the city

As fun as it sounds, I know I'm going to be a zombie, so we are going to head to the B&B at 10 and 'sleep'?? hehe

Our reception ends at 9 also... but it turns out they're throwing a carnival for us right outside the community center that lasts until 11!! Ok, so maybe that's not a reasonable suggestion. But I just have to continue to laugh at how that got dropped on us last week. LOL

In all seriousness, I think an informal after party at a bar or a house is a great idea. Informal- so that way you can ditch it if you're too tired.

Our reception is over at 9:00 also, we rented a party bus to take us to our favorite watering hole till 11:00 and then back to resort to sit by fire pits and eat S'mores!

I'd say call around to fun bars and see if you can be VIP or have some tables reserved and party it up!

Our reception ended at 9 and I was plenty ready to head to the hotel for the night...i figured if our younger guests wanted to stay up and do something else, they were more then welcome to, but they could plan it on their own!

I agree with them above... I am doing an after party at my house with a few of the people with alcohol and my kareoke machine...

We met up with everyone at the hotel bar for an after-party. For the truly hardcore, there was an after-after party in my sister's hotel room. She had bourbon, fried chicken, Krispy Kreme, and gave us each a bottle of Gatorade to take home.

Ours ends at 10, and luckily our hotel has a bar on site with karaoke..i figure those staying at the hotel and close friends and fam will probably hang out there with us for awhile after the reception.

@Shannon, an after after party? NOW we're talkin! lol :-)
