What name do you put in the return address for invites?

Gen, on June 15, 2018 at 9:59 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 33
Writing both of our names for the return address label seems way too excessive but I feel like it’d be weird to just write one or the other!

What did you guys do for this?

My parents hosted so I put their names down. As the RSVP's rolled in my mom just kept me updated. If you're the one collecting RSVP's you could write "Genevieve and [Groom]" without a last name.

Why does it seem excessive? That's what you do...

We put both our names. It didn't seem excessive at all. Plus our respective families knew who it was coming from.

We bought a stamp without our new last night, that way we could use it later as well. Had both of our names.

We bought a stamp off Etsy that had both our first names listed, rather then our whole names. This worked well because we can continue to use it after the wedding (rather than one that said The Future mr and mrs, or our current last names). Since it was a stamp it was small enough to fit in the return address corning and on the front of the RSVP envelop without taking up too much space.

    It says

    Munchkin & FH

    Street address

    City, state, zip

    small greenery design underneath.

I put just our first names. We got a stamp and I figured I can use it after the wedding too for christmas cards and anything else if I didn't have last names on it!

I mean it seems excessive to write both first names and both last names. But I’m not opposed to doing either both first names OR both last names

I wouldn't do both whole names, do both your first names. There won't be any issues.

We also bought a stamp with just our first names and address. We were able to use it for our save the dates, the RSVP envelopes, thank you cards from my shower, and thank you notes from the wedding. We will probably keep using it until we move.

Our first initial of our last name is the same (C) so we decided to make a stamp on Vistaprint and use our first names with our address (we bought a house together). This makes stamping the return addresses so much easier on the RSVP envelopes and saves us time. Plus, we can keep the stamp to use after we are married.

Yeah getting a stamp like that is a good idea but we are currently living with my family temporarily, so we’re most likely moving somewhere else within the next year so it seems silly to get a stamp when we’re not at our permanent address.

Right now it’s not even invites we’re just addressing Save the Dates, and we’ll probably have moved by the time we send out our invites anyway lol

I’ve seen people do the pre-printed stamp or labels. I’ve also seen people address it as “Future Mr & Mrs ___”

I used a stamp with just our first names on our save the dates. For our invited I'll use both our full names.

I just used my name and address as we aren't living together and all mail, gifts, etc. related to the wedding are coming to my house.
