What location do you put on the Rehearsal Dinner invitation?

Dr. & Mrs. R, on February 7, 2015 at 3:06 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

What address do you put on the rehearsal dinner invitation? The ceremony site where the rehearsal will start or the actual dinner location?? Also, what time did you start yours? Our wedding is at 4:00 pm on Saturday. Quite a few will have to travel 1-2 hours to get to the location of the ceremony for the rehearsal on Friday.

I'd handle it the way you would a wedding invite; rehearsal at ____ at _____o'clock, dinner to follow at ____ at _______.

Your rehearsal actually only needs to be the people actually included in the wedding party, their S/o's and parents. If the rehearsal is on Friday, it's going to be tough to get anyone far out of town to be there before 7:00.

So that our bridal party won't have to use a vacation day, we are having our rehearsal the Saturday before the ceremony from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Our dinner will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at our home. We're putting our home address on the rehearsal dinner invitation. We will email those involved with the ceremony about the rehearsal and email the invitation.

Here is the one from magnetstreet.com we are leaning towards:

    I think you put both!

The timing will most likely depend on when your venue can accommodate you and when your rehearsal dinner location can accommodate your reservation. When I have been in a wedding, I have taken off work on Friday for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner so I had time to pack, primp and travel.

Both locations should be included. Wherever the first location is (where everyone will meet) should be listed first. You may have dinner before the rehearsal or after, depending on your situation and time frame.

Thank you! I wasn't sure how to work it because none of the templates I've looked at have addressed this issue.

If you're inviting everyone to the rehearsal and the dinner, then you put both addresses. If you are only inviting them to the dinner, then you put the location of the dinner.
