What is your pee plan?

Haha...for all of you brides planning to wear shape wear, what is your plan for going to the bathroom? My dress is poofy, I will need help from my bridesmaids to pee, but I just don't see how I'd be able to pull spanx on and off successfully.

What about the crotchless Spanx with a thong slid over so that you can just slide it down when you need to go, but not have to mess with the Spanx?

Lol, that’s just what I was about to say! My sister’s gonna have to help me in and out of it. I never considered what to do about the spanx, so that will have to be something I think about... 😬

I have not really thought about it, but I will give it some serious thought...

When I wear my biggest costume (I'm part of a charity costuming group) that is based off a wedding dress pattern (just more colorful) I have found that instead of sitting backwards when you need to get your stocking completely off at least one foot to do comfortably, I use the handicap stall and sit sideways so that I'm facing the wall that is right next to the toilet and the huge train is in the open part of the stall behind me. Its easier to slide in and out that way and there is less lifting it out of the way than sitting "normally" (I can sling it up over my arm on the side away from the back to make sure it is completely up and out of the way on the other side).

I never thought about using the bathroom in a mermaid style dress; I didn't think you'd have to come all the way out of it. Is getting in and out of your dress fairly easy/quick?

I've got it way easy! My dress is made by my mother and it's super light and flowy. I won't have any issues at all lifting the bottom of the dress to use the bathroom. But also since the day of the ceremony and reception are on two different days, I won't be in my dress for very long.

My seamstress gave me the best advice (not great for shapewear but good for a big dress like i'll have): pee facing the back of the toilet. it helps remove the train from the whole equation!

Most spanx that are full length have a slit that you can “pull open” to pee. Trust me. I’ve done this enough in my 30lb Renascence courtiers gown!
