What do you think of water bottles for a party favor

Stacy, on July 18, 2011 at 4:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

So I have switched party favor ideas so many times.

First I thought about wine toppers and beer bottle openers.

Then I was thinking of doing champagne glasses (figured our guest would be able to use themm for our toast but not sure how much use they would get after the wedding).

Now I am thinking of aluminum/stainless steel water waters (figured its practical and nowadays everyone carries water bottles around with them).

Sorry let me clarify for the champagne glass or water bottle I wouldn't be putting our names or wedding date on it. Just a simple image of two leaves on the champagne glass or a single word one the water bottle or just a plain water bottle with a thank you tag and note on it.

So I could use your guys help with if any of these 3 are good ideas or if you can suggest something else. I am hoping to order the favors this month because of how long the turnaround looks like it will be for these items.

Thanks in advance for your input or suggestions.

I love the idea because it's environmental, but you know your guests best. Do you think they will really want to carry around a water bottle with someone else's names on it? I would say wine toppers or beer openers bc it's a keepsake they keep around the house.

My opinion, too much like a conference type knick knack. Wine stopper is probably my top choice among the 3.

Something else you can do as a favor...mini champagne bottle ( pricey) and those mini martinelli apple cider

I love the water bottle idea, but I wouldn't want to use one that was personalized with someone's wedding information, including my own wedding.

We almost did that. You can get stainless steel bottles made fairly inexpensively. I looked into the aluminum ones - they were SO cheap, I figured they would stay out of the garbage for about 48 hours, if they made it through the night.

Honestly, we ditched the idea b/c everyone I know already has at least 1-2, and no one needs more. But it is a nice favor!

I agree that putting our names on the stuff would probably not be best.

I like the idea. It's definitely something I would use if I got it as a favor!

Not too crazy about just plain bottle of water--- sorry if I sound mean but that just look really cheap.

Champagne glass you risk breakage for guests that travel. Those reusable water bottle -- well too 'conferency'

I think probably the best bet is wine stopper or bottle opener. Small enough to carry for OOT guests n is very practical too

So not sure about your theme - but the wine stoppers and openers is EXACTLY what I am giving out. We are doing both - every other seat gets one (meaning a couple would end up with one of each) They each came in thier own boxes and we put some ribbon on them and they look really nice.

I love the idea. If it's in budget and your guests would like it then go for it. Checkout www.foreverwed.com if you go the personalized route. I got regular waterbottle labeles from them and I am very pleased with the end result.

I'm not a fan of the champagne glasses, since I would never touch it again after the wedding. The water bottle- well, I have about 5 of them. I like the concept, but it would end up taking up space in my cabinet.

The wine stoppers is a good idea- if most of your guests drink wine.

However, I always suggest edible favors. Inexpensive, and they always get used...

My only suggestion is, don't worry too much about favors. Remember your guests are there to celebrate your wedding not walk away with a gift.
