What do you think of this idea for Mother-Son Dance Song

There are alot of traditional songs, but none of them appeal to me. I looked up the song that was #1 the week I was born and it is a slow, romantic love song. Does a mother son song have to have lyrics that are inspirational or would this song, once introduced and explained by the DJ, also work.

    The lyrics are far less important than the meaning behind it. I like the idea of using the song that was number 1 when you were born. Your mom probably remembers hearing it alot, and will make her remember that time. Very sweet Smiley smile

    But I'm still curious what song it is! Smiley tongue

    We are doing a combo dance: Mother/son, father/daughter to Teach your children by Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. IMO, a love song shouldn't be for a parents dance.

    How about something like Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd... old school song with great lyrics.
