I want to get a lot of input on this so I can really know if I’m being reasonable or not. FH and I are trying to save more because we want to buy a house when we get married, and he will probably need a new truck by then. We’ve been looking at our budget to see what areas have excess spending. He thinks I spend too much on my hair, but I do not want cut back on going to the salon. I get partial highlights and an eyebrow wax for $100(after tip) every 8-9 weeks, so 6 salon trips per year. I use cheap shampoo and conditioner and don’t wear any makeup so my annual beauty budget is probably less than $700. I don’t think I'm spending too much, but what do you think? How much do you on yourself?

    I think it's a reasonable amount.

With hair and nails, I'm around 800-1000/year. That's a cut, color or highlight (depending my mood) every 3-4 months.

If you're really trying to "save money" on beauty...I guess you could try to get close to your natural hair color and then only cut/trim it for the next year (except right before your wedding).

I get balayage (baby lights) probably 4 maybe five times a year and usually pay around 180-240$ depending on which stylist I see for my whole head.

Honestly I would flip your budget and spend more money on shampoo and conditioner and maybe some kind of a protector if you use heat on your hair regularly. I swear by living proof and I never ever use heat on my hair. About every 6-8 weeks I get it trimmed and that's about it.

I'm growing my hair longer for the wedding, but my usual routine is cut every 3 months for $35 including tip. I do my own pedi @ Home, never do color or mani. I'm low maintenance.

Every 8-10 weeks I go to my stylist to get a cut (50 dollars with tip). If I get color like I did today, I got to my job because since I work in a prison they have inmates who are licemsed cosmetologists all I have to do is bring my supplies and they color and cut and everything for free. My color today cost me 20 dollars which was just buying the supplies the lady told me to bring from sallys. I get my hair cut elsewhere only because I had been going to her for a while before this job. Otherwise I wouldn't pay for my hair cuts. But I do get outside eyebrow waxes ($8), and nails which is usually about forty.
