Just curious? What did you end up doing yourself and was it worth it? tenor.gif

I DIY’ed my own centerpieces. I guess it was worth it lol. I had my cousin give me most of her leftover flowers from her wedding but she didn’t have enough so I had to try to find similar flowers. Joanns store was a nightmare lol. If my cousin didn’t give me her flowers, I think I would’ve spent as much as real flowers. That’s the only reason why I think it was worth it...it was less than real flowers due to my cousins hand me downs, I could resell it, I take pride I made it, and I don’t have to worry about them wilting.

I did my centerpieces and aisle markers. When I saw the centerpieces cost as much as the bouquets, and renting a lantern was as much as buying one, there is no way I was spending thousands of dollars on that. Definitely worth it and fun.

I’m doing my centerpieces and aisle markers. We’re using baby’s breath so we’ll be able to prepare it like 3 days before hand. My fiancé is building our arch. He is also supposed to go and cut a tree down from my parents for me to make some wooden disc.

I’m doing fiftyflowers.com for floral. Skipping limo service. Dollar store has clear glass plain candles and clear flower vases. Hair n makeup diy. Photography will be all poloroids on tables for guests to take real authentic photos if they wish. (However we did hire a cinematographer instead of a photographer). DIYing our engagement photo session for our save the dates which we will do through minted.

I had a day of coordinator whose only job was to set up the reception while i was at cocktail hour and stuff since logistically it was too much of a time crunch or i had to put too large of a gap in between ceremony and reception if i had to decorate it myself. wouldn't have worked out for me.

i did! i have one of these: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/40/8a/09/408a095e2817e2abf529bbe2816e76b5.jpg

i display it in my bedroom.

Thanks! That means a lot to me. I’m really critical of it since I did it myself lol.

Thanks! I heard they typically cost like $70-100 so I did my own after my mom kept bugging me for tall centerpieces lol no idea why it meant a lot to her 😂 I plan to resell it to recoup some money after.

I’m DIYing centerpieces, ceremony decorations, all of our flowers, and a giant tic-tac-toe board for lawn games. Also made our own cake stand. The fabric strip curtain will be prayer flags across the back of the amphitheater where our ceremony will be. Prior to the wedding, I’m having friends and family write a prayer for our marriage on the strips. After the wedding they’ll be used as curtains in our home.
