What are your wedding songs??!

Baby, on June 13, 2011 at 10:54 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 24

Here is what I have so far...

Prelude: mixture of FH & I's favorite songs

Processional: Keith Urban "Without You"

First dance: Brad Paisley "Then"

Father/Daughter: Bob Carlisle "Butterfly Kisses"

Recessional: ...*Scotty McCreery "I Love You This Big" (?)

What are your girls'/guys' songs? Are you having a theme for your songs? I'd like to stick to country music for mine, but I can't find any good country songs that match how I was the recessional to feel Smiley sad

    @Glenda M - I didn't even think about music during the sand ceremony! That's a great idea...

...& how do you feel about this song for a recessional? I just thought of it & you might laugh, but --- Scotty McCreery - I Love You This Big ??!

As far as your recessional--- I don't like the scotty song for this. You have to remember what this moment is.. You just got married!!!!! The moment is supposed to be JOYFUL!!!! So we picked an upbeat song because we are going to be smiling and happy!!

I think the scotty song would be better placed as a first song or as your processional (walking down the isle)

Don't shoot me for making this suggestion... but I think it would be great... I did something similar at a wedding as the bride and groom left the reception, but this could also work for a recessional as long as it's not a very religious ceremony.

How 'bout if, after the officiant introduces you as husband and wife you jump on your FH's back and run out to "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy"?

That would REALLY get the party rolling.

We are thinking about Keith Urban "your everything." I might be too slow for your recessional though.

@MC - I LOVE your idea - if only I was little tinier and FH could actually handle me on his back - this would be a perfect get away!!!!

But we are using all country and unless things change this is what we are using.

Parental seating - Change Me (Chris Cagle)

Attendants Processional - Me and You (Kenny Chesney)

Bride & Groom Entrance (we're walking together - When You Kiss Me (Shania Twain)

Recessional - From This Moment (Shania Twain)

I'm still in the process of mine, but I have to say I love the fact that you want to use Scotty's song. I started crying when he sang it on Idol cause I pictured that possibly being mine and FH's first dance song or somehow part of the wedding. I love the lyrics and everything about it!
