My last post for the day (I promise) What is/are your wedding cake flavor/s, fillings and icing? If you're having multiple flavors (tiers), which are you freezing for your anniversary?

    So many flavours. I swear, I didn't even know wedding cake came in so many flavours.

    My Mum is making ours so it's pretty standard. Traditional wedding fruit cake for the bottom tier, a vanilla sponge in the middle, and chocolate as the top tier. All with traditional icing.

    @Jai that sounds yummy! I haven't choosen a cake flavor yet but one of the more exciting things to do.

    Three-tiered vanilla chiffon cake with lemon cream filling and Swiss buttercream frosting. I didn't know that people saved tiers for their anniversaries, that sounds fun.

    We had 4 tiers, with swiss buttercream icing. The biggest (bottom) tier was yellow cake with caramel creme filling; the second tier was chocolate devil's food cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate creme filling; the third and fourth tiers were almond cake with peanut butter creme filling. I actually did not get a single bite of cake other than the tiny piece we fed each other Smiley sad lol but H ate some and said it was delish!! haha which is also what we heard from other people. It was soo good at our cake tasting so I'm bummed I didn't get any!! We saved the top tier, which is why it was the same flavor as the 3rd tier.

    My fiance´and I booked with Jeffrey A Miller (JAM) Catering for our October Philadelphia wedding because we loved the food they served at our friends' wedding a couple of years ago... especially the cake! Admittedly, we chose some of the same things our friends did because we loved it all so much. For our cake we are having a marbled pound cake with mocha buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream on the outside, in 3 tiers. JAM specializes in farm-to-table fresh foods and they certainly know how to do cakes too!

    We had 3 different flavors:

    -My favorite: banana cake with caramel and Bavarian cream filling

    -butter cake with raspberry and Bavarian cream filling

    -chocolate cake with cookie dough and mocha filling

    We did 3-

    red velvet with strawberry filling and buttercream icing

    pumpkin with irish cream filling and irish cream icing

    raspberry swirl in white cake with lemon curd filling and vanilla icing

    The baker makes a fresh replica for free on the first anniversary. Which is good because our house sitting threw our cake top away while we were on our honeymoon. haha

    We just had our tasting this weekend! We went with white cake with a layer of raspberry preserves and a layer of chocolate fudge. The outside will be buttercream. Unfortunately all our layers had to be the same since the cake was included in the package with our venue. The cake is awesome but i am jealous of all the more unusual flavors some of you have. We only had pretty standard choices.

    We have three tiers and a sheet cake. The tiers are cookies and cream, hoho, lemon raspberry, and our sheet cake is strawberry swirl cake with a white cream frosting with fresh strawberries sliced on top.

    Eta: we aren't freezing any of it, because our baker makes you an anniversary cake the next year.

    We are having three separate cakes, Boston cream cake ( made with Bavarian cream not traditional custard), chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, and gold with Italian cream. We will be cutting the gold cake...we are not freezing any of the cakes

    - orange bubbly cake

    - chocolate ganache

    - and Pomegranate Raspberry butter cream frosting

    with fondant but my baker makes it with marshmallows so it tastes like marshmallows!

    oh and the cupcakes are Ginger molasses with the pomegranate- raspberry butter cream

    We have a cutting cake and then cupcakes. Our flavors are red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and a vanilla and chocolate chip cake with cannolli icing. Our cutting cake is the chocolate chip cake, but because we are leaving for our cruise, we won't be freezing anything.

    Ours will be 3 tiers, but we chose the same flavor for the whole thing because it was so yummy (:

    All 3 will be their silver white cake with a strawberries & mascarpone mousse.

    We get to come back on our anniversary for a sweethearts cake of the same flavor, so no freezing for me.

    Grooms cake: chocolate cake with ganache and peanut butter (his fav!) and Wedding cake: Red Velvet with bourbon cream cheese filling and Vanilla cake brushed with lemoncello and raspberry filling. Yum!

    Our cutting cake will be two tiers, chocolate with chocolate chip mousse and buttercream icing. Two sheet cakes for serving, one mocha with molasses mousse (FH loves it and he's not a cake guy!), and one vanilla "funfetti" with strawberry mousse. We aren't saving a tier - we'll just go get a fresh cake from the same bakery if we can.
