What are your recessional songs?

Mrs.B-Baby!!, on April 12, 2012 at 7:08 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

Hi!

I am trying to decide which song to use for our recessional. Are any of you having difficulty with coming up w/ songs for your wedding/reception?

We dont have one for the family yet but the BP are walking to the instrumental version of "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perri and I will be walking to the same song Bella from Twilight walked down the isle too. (not bc im a twilight fan, but bc i really like the song lol) and then after we are married we are walking back down the isle to the courus Colbie Caillat's "Brighter Than the Sun".

Totally having difficulty! My MOH is a salsa and ballroom performer, and I'm having her choreograph our first dance, but I keep changing my mind about songs! I'm also hiring an a cappella choir to sing for the ceremony, but I keep worrying about those songs too! Processional, "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds. Somewhere in the middle of the service "Borning Cry" (Lutheran Hymn). Don't know about recessional yet, but kinda leaning towards Ode to Joy.

@Heather T. - we're opposites! My BP will be walking to Bella's Lullaby while I'll be walking to A Thousand Years... however I haven't decided on whether or not to use the instrumental or the original version. Then as we leave the tried and true I'm A Believer Smiley smile

YES!! this is very difficult! because I want all the songs that I like to be in the wedding but I just don't know where to put them!! UGH!!! and I want to give our singer the song at least 2 months in advance so that she can know and practice! So this is mind blowing for me.

I actually came up with this by myself right before sending the list off to the DJ. FH had spent alot of time going through music, carefully picking songs. We finally had our list but I relaized before sending it that I hadn't put a Reccessional song so at searched for a song quickly, and wrote down "Livin' our love song" By Jason Michael Carroll

I'm walking down to an instrumental version of "Here Comes The Sun" by the Beatles, and we are walking out to "Eight Days A Week" also by the Beatles.

That's the only song we are sure of! The other ones we are finding super tough as well!

Have you heard of "vitamin string quartet?" they are a string quartet that play all sorts of covers...worth checking out on youtube! We might play a bunch of it while peoeple of being seated.

For our recessional, we are walking out to "don't let your feet touch ground" by Ash Koley Smiley smile

Life in Technicolor by Cold Play. The Safety Dance will play right after that, as the ushers excuse the guests from the church. I know, we're dorks. Which is why we are doing that. If we didn't have at least one dorky element to our wedding, our friends would think we were ill or something.

I am a major dork so all my songs came from Final Fantasy X series. They are beautiful songs however and my sister said she will be crying because I gave her a sample of the songs.

Beautiful Day by U2, my son says it's corny. The song played a part in our 2nd date, so corny it is!
