What are you walking down the aisle to? :)

Krystyna, on May 21, 2015 at 3:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 41

I've been compiling a list of songs I love that remind me of the wedding day and my FH, and the one song that is always stuck in my mind is Marry Me by Train. There's something so sincere, soft and sweet about it. I'd love to either walk down the aisle to it or have it as the main background music, should we choose to hire a videographer. What are you ladies walking down to? Any particular song? The wedding march? Were you able to make a mix of songs your parties will walk down the aisle during, or are you playing a single song for the entirety? Smiley smile

I have a couple different ones. The first one is really old by J. Blackfoot, called "Just One Lifetime." The WP will come in to that. I'm walking in to Chrisette Michelle "A Couple of Forevers." You may or may not have ever heard of either lol

I want to use this, but I'm afraid it's way too long.

I walked down to an instrumental of "All you Need is Love" by the Beatles.

I didn't have a huge wedding party, so one song was enough to get them all down the aisle - I used "Canon in D" for that. Then the Beatles song for me.

I personally walked down to the theme from Out of Africa but I've had couples use the theme from Jurrasic Park, Forrest Gump (surprisingly beautiful, both of them), Pirates of the Caribbean (hilarious) and all kinds of wild stuff lately.

Almost anything, played by the Piano Guys, is perfectly appropriate.

@KWToBe & Celia, I totally forgot about the Piano Guys! Definitely checking them out. I could totally see me walking down to the Jurassic Park theme song, though .. I've only just recently watched them and I find myself humming it all the time haha.

FH really loves tradition, and he wanted something classical. I personally am not a fan of the Wedding March, so we decided on Canon in D by Pachelbel.

@Celia - i suppose you would know better than anyone else: How long should the song for the bride to walk down the aisle be?

Anyone doing a church wedding? I haven't even thought about what song to use and I really don't like most of the traditional church ceremony ones.

I'm walking in to the instrumental version of Everything by Lifehouse.... I love it! My WP is walking down to the instrumental of Shotgun Rider by Tim McGraw. Our recessional will be Never Stop by SafetySuit, the original version. I bring that up because there's a slower wedding version that actually would be really pretty as a bridal entrance song!

I would like to think this has been finalized, but considering I'm not getting married until November 2016, things could change. With that said, as of right now, I am walking down to "All I want is You" Vitamin String Quartet

I'm doing a church ceremony and really don't want the traditional catholic songs.FH's family insist on Ave Maria because it's so beautiful. FH and I really want 'Here Comes the Sun" by Beatle's instrumental version. I have no idea if they allow this at church. Does anyone know by chance?
