What are you walking down the aisle to? :)

I've been compiling a list of songs I love that remind me of the wedding day and my FH, and the one song that is always stuck in my mind is Marry Me by Train. I've been compiling a list of songs I love that remind me of the wedding day and my FH, and the one song that is always stuck in my mind is Marry Me by Train. There's something so sincere, soft and sweet about it. I'd love to either walk down the aisle to it or have it as the main background music, should we choose to hire a videographer. What are you ladies walking down to? Any particular song? The wedding march? Were you able to make a mix of songs your parties will walk down the aisle during, or are you playing a single song for the entirety? Smiley smile

I'm walking to the piano guys version of a thousand years. It's our song so we thought it would be a special touch.

It depends on how long your aisle is.....your DJ should be able to fade it out when you get to the front, or re-loop it if it's too short.

SeñoraV, you should speak with the priest officiating your ceremony. However, when a friend was married, her priest did not allow any secular music. Even if it was instrumental.

WWKatie- maybe look into some contemporary Christian music? We'll be walking to "oceans (where feet may fail)" by hill song United. We listen to contemporary Christian all the time so we kinda knew what to do for. I love that since we don't have a huge bridal party we'll walk to the same song, and I'll come in right at the bridge (the part that says 6x here http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/hillsongunited/oceanswherefeetmayfail.html) but you really have to listen to it to hear the beauty of it, and our church musicians do it perfectly

I'm now considering the Jurassic park theme song ( I LOVE dinosaurs) or we'll use Somewhere over the Rainbow. All of our ceremony music is played on the ukulele.

    Greetings!

What a coincidence to see this conversation!

Purple Kitten -- Your Wedding Musicians will know the length of your Walk down the Center aisle and they will customize/adjust their arrangement to so that it fits the length of your center aisle. Don't worry about that at all!

I think "I WILL" by The Beatles is so charming for a Bride to walk down the aisle to! For the Recessional, ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE is nice.

We do a ALL BEATLES WEDDING CEREMONY and Guests from 18 to 80 will know all the songs. So that is very nice!

I LOVE when we do WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS, as I suggest that the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen walk down the aisle as Couples, for that song. So charming!

Very glad that I saw this topic. All the best to everyone! Love the diverse song selections.

PS - Please remember that not all of the current songs will always translate well to classical instruments. Your Ceremony Musicians will be able to guide you!

    Most Sincerely, Flutist Michele (-:

    Post Script

SenoraV and to Everyone with a House of Worship Ceremony:

Just ask your Officiant if that selection is allowed and if there are specific music guidelines.

Our Duo does many Church Ceremonies and a good number of Churches are allowing some contemporary selections. ** If you ask, they will tell you, as they want your Wedding to be special for you. **

For something very pretty and wistful, try:

FLOWER SONG from the Opera Lakme by Delibes

Start listening at 0.33 seconds, as that is where your Musicians would begin. They would have a specific Processional arrangement, as our Duo does. Here is the audio link, below.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMcoHrYAtGk

It's SO pretty and different. Your Musicians can do an arrangement that will be perfect for your aisle length.

    Most Sincerely, Flutist Michele (-:
