what are you using to hold your boquet at the head table?

Nicole, on June 3, 2014 at 9:40 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 26

My florist doesnt offer vases (they do, but i'd have to pay for them and theyre stupid expensive) so they suggested getting the 6 inch cylinder vases from dollar tree. i think that is what i wanna do, and just add some bling to it to spice it up. what are you putting your bouquet in for the night??

My florist is providing glass cylinder vases.

Make sure your vases are heavy enough to hold the bouquets without toppling over.

^^^^ good point. my florist recommended the 6 in tall ones so i'm hoping those will be tall enough, and i think they're pretty heavy. but now you have me worried!

Fill the bottom with decorative gems if nothing else. It'll be fine. I had oversized vases at the end of the table that fit two bouquets in it and then mine by itself because it was larger.

Like Jay and Samantha, this never occurred to me...there's a ton of things this week people have been mentioning that I need to consider. So, thanks! Smiley smile

I've got vases from Ikea for our centrepieces, and already had a larger similar one for my bouquet to go in. I got a load of those gel balls to make them a little more interesting, plus a ribbon and bow on each one. I'm keeping it all quite simple.

My father passed away so on the memorial table we have set aside for him I will be putting my bouquet in a vase on that table the vase will have water and rocks to hold it up. If your going with a hand tied bouquet you can use a vase if your going with a BHO which is the plastic holder with oasis they sell bouquet holders at holly lobby that clip to the front of the head table and you slip the handle into it and it holds your bouquet nicely. ( see stacys comment above that's the holder I am talking about) all craft stores carry them.

Can a bride not just set it down on the table? Haha. I'll officially be done with the bouquet by then! Ain't nobody got time for all those details.

I need someplace to put mine for the CEREMONY. We aren't having attendants so I can't pass it off. I need to check out these bouquet holders I think.

    I used these.

I got them either on Amazon or Ebay. The last picture is my bouquet at the reception.

    Paris- those are fantastic!

You don't need vases for your flowers if you don't want them later, or aren't donating them (shameless plug for my new favorite organization, Repeat Roses), but a lot of weddings reuse bouquets for decor at the reception.

We'll be using ours for the sweetheart and cake tables.

The 6 inch from Dollar Tree will be tall enough. They also sell clear gems/marbles to put in the vase that will weigh it down. You won't need many to do that.
