What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?

I just answered a post and this question came to mind. Aside from the obvious..that first look, what one thing in your wedding reception and ceremony are you looking forward to the most? Ceremony: I can't wait to read my vows. Reception: I can't wait to dance to our song, "In Your Eyes."

Well even though I am married already I remember the things I looked forward to most were:

Seeing my final hairstyle. In the trial I didn't have the extensions so I didn't get the full effect. It was more awesome than I could've hoped for. :-)

Seeing the venue all set up with our favors and center pieces.

Having DH see me in my dress for the first time.

    Getting married of course!

First dance & the starting off the open dancing. I LOVED both songs we chose. :-)

CAKE!!! Seeing & eating it! The design was not as elaborate as I'd expected but it was DELICIOUS!

Seeing all my friends & family that I never get to see :-)

Our first dance was very meaningful to us....and actually the other moment which was really unexpected...was when we were on the plane about to take off for our HM and I just couldn't believe we were married and ready to take off on our new life and adventure together-- a feeling of relief, of excitement, and bliss.

The Ceremony: When the minister says "I now pronounce you Man and Wife"

The Reception: When the dj says" Ladies and Gentlemen introducing Mr and Mrs. Craig Fugett!" ahhhhhhhhhhh can't wait!

Thanks for the thread Carole! I think we all get caught up at times in the excitement of the physical details of the planning, it was nice to take time out to actually picture/imagine the special moments besides the obvious getting married portion! :-)

Ok, this is going to sound totally sappy. But the biggest thing I looked forward to was being legally married. We had lived together, and were committed to each other for life, for nine years at that point. But for so long, we had thought we would never be able to be legally married.

For it to all be over and out of my parents house!!!! Okay no seriously ...

    1) walking down the aisle to my FS (praying I don't cry)

    2) our priest saying "It is my pleasure to introduce to you Mr and Mrs ... yeah that'll make me cry

    3) the reception, to dance and drink and eat with all my friends and family

    4) Ultimately to prove to my Mom, okay thank you I'm done, I can live my own life now and it's not so bad!

It's such a beautiful thing!! I can't describe the emotion that over came me when we were taking our vows. Even though we were at the courthouse, it didn't matter. I was marrying the love of my life and I couldn't control myself!!

Reception: I just got married and what I was looking forward to the most, aside from the first look was seeing my design of the wedding all set up...cus I worked so hard on it..and when I finally did..I LOVED it!!!! Staying up til 4am to finish printing programs, place cards and signs(long story) was totally worth it!!!

Ceremony: My walk down...I picked a song I loved for my processional and I wanted a dramatic entrance...I walked to Bittersweet Symphony Instrumental & if you haven't heard the tune before, it starts slow, then the music picks up & right when it picks up my 2 ushers opened the double doors at each side when I came out. It was awesome!

Yeah the whole 'ha ha told you I could do it' to everyone ... I'm a bit of a bridezilla I know, not proud of it but I am probably because I'm just by nature a competitive person but anyways yes that'll be nice to see it all come together that day Smiley smile I definitly do not want to be up till 4am working on programs, place cards and signs, all that stuff I hope to have done before I head to the airport to fly out for my wedding ... but @ Mrs. Turner that does sound amazing! I'm far to shy to be brave enough to do that but that really sounds beautiful!

I just love reading everyone's answers. Thanks so much for sharing them.

@April W...Do you think you will be crying tears of joy or just beaming with happiness?

@Abigail...Thanks. It was truly my pleasure. Yes, we all do get caught up in the planning.

@2dbride....I don't think that is sappy at all. I say, "Bravo!" I totally get it. Most of us don't know what it is like to not be able to marry the love of our lives. While our situation does not compare to yours(the obvious legal part), we have been together 8 years, and my fear has kept me from marrying. Psychologically, it was so nice to be able to put the hurt and anger behind, and trust again. We have been engaged for 2 years. Everyone says, "It's about time." So, to you and your DW, I say a very warm congratulations. I am so happy for you on so many levels.

@SoontobemrsD.....As a mother of a soon to be 24 your old, I love that last one! Smiley smile

@SheilH...There is nothing wrong with a little "Bridezilla" moment.

@Katterina....I don't think it matters where you say those words. Just being able to say them is a beautiful thing! Congrats on your marriage.

    @LisaV...I love the answer.

@Mrs.Turner...I know the song, and it is beautiful. Congrats on your marriage!

@KenWay...A man who can cry is a beautiful thing.

Ladies...Thanks so much for sharing. Being the old f..rt of the bunch of us, it is so nice to read what others think. As I stated in my response to 2dBride, for me, taking this step after a failed marriage was big. When I figured out what I wanted, and prayed for it, I was told he didn't exist(by all of my friends). My prayers were answered and as much as the details are fun, my ultimate thought is I can't wait to be held on the dance floor and dance with someone I know truly does love me. : )

I'm really looking forawrd to seeing my girls all dressed up- and by 'girls' I mean my daughters. They will be 10 and 7, and have never really been dressed up all froofy. My oldest is genetically a girl, but personality is ALL boy! My youngest is a princess, and will tell you that if you ask her.

I can't wait for our "First Look" and private moments before the ceremony. Also can't wait for our last dance, which will be held outside overlooking the vineyard at the end of the night, with glittering lights scattered in the grass around us. Its gonna be so magical!
