My wedding is in 6 months and I’m looking to at least lose 30 pounds. Can you girlies recommend any plans , eating tips , apps etc that maybe you’ve used or are using that really really work? Thanks!

I've found that just tracking my calories and working out is working for me. I make sure I eat lots of veggies. I am eating carbs in moderation because I do need those to continue to to work out and not plateau. I don't eat hardly any artificial sugar, and I watch my intake of natural sugars. I eat a good amount of protein, dairy, nuts, fruits, and veggies. I eat starches like brown rice, rice noodles/pasta (I have a gluten allergy), grits, and sweet potatoes in moderation. Also, healthy fats, like coconut oil and avocado, are really good for you! I actually need to do better about eating those. And drinking water! It seems like it's not that big of a deal but it is! Sometimes, when you think you're hungry your body is actually thirsty. It will help you feel full too so you don't eat quite as much. The tracking app I'm using is Lose It. I'm 5 ft. 3 in. and I weigh 160 and average a size 6 to 8. I eat about 1500 calories a day. I've lost about an 1 in. in every section of my body since July. I started out at 160 and haven't lost any weight, just inches. Muscle weighs more than fat and takes up less space. I only need to loose about another half in before my wedding in March. I enjoy eating 1500 calories a day too because it still allows me to enjoy the foods I like without completely cutting them out.

The only way to lose weight is taking in less calories than you burn. Whether that’s keto, low carb, weight watchers etc it’s all just a calorie deficit. For some people it’s easier to cut out food groups and for others that feels depriving so you might have to experiment to see what works best for your lifestyle.

Walking - if it is possible for you and where you live, walk everywhere. I moved to a city from a rural area and began to walk everywhere. I’d be walking at least 5 miles a day normally. I was not even dieting and I went from 140 pounds to 125 in like 4 months. I’ve always been a healthy eater so that probably had a lot to do with it, but the walking definitely helped.
Meat - cut out meat if you can. I gave up meat for lent once and lost about 10 pounds during that time. I also had so much more energy so I kept with a veggie diet for 4 more years! Just make sure you’re making up the nutrients with other foods.
Cutting out pop, juice, and coffee creamers can also do a lot. A lot of People don’t realize just how much sugar they are drinking with those. Also, if you want a hard, but fun, workout class I highly recommend orange theory fitness. It is insanely hard and about 15 minutes in I want to give up, but the instructors are so motivating that I always am able to push myself harder. I am a horrible runner, and I went from running a 15 minute mile to a 10 minute mile in 2 months. It is a bit more expensive, but in my opinion it is well worth the money. If you have access to a treadmill and some weights you can also do the workouts at home or at a different gym because they are posted on reddit everyday!

I started losing weight 6 months out! I took HIIT classes at a local gym twice a week, then did at home workouts with the Tone It Up app the other 3 days. On the weekends, we walked at least 3 miles. I cut out soda, desserts & coffee creamer as well. I lost 15 lbs in about 3 months then just stayed consistent until our wedding day (I was happy with that weight). My husband lost 20 lbs before our wedding and another 10 since then, he goes to the gym and does heavy lifting 3 days a week then rides 30+ miles on a stationary bike throughout the week as well.

You can look into bootcamps in your area. I joined one and it made so much of a difference and was actually really motivating and fun. You just need to stay committed, drink A LOT OF WATER, and cut out sugar. Good luck!

I’m doing low carbs, intermittent fasting and trying to do low impact workouts on my lunch break and at night a few nights a week. Reduced sugar and processed foods helps a ton! Unfortunately I have to do extra to get my metabolism kicking :/

I tried keto before and did it perfectly, but it really messed with my mood. It was giving me really bad anxiety and joint pain so I had to stop. Just make sure you listen to your body with whatever you try!

That will be tough and amazing strong dedication, but it is not impossible! I have lost over 50 pounds since Jan. Stay active 5-7 days a week(try to switch up your active workouts so your body doesn't get used to it and stays in plateau phase), try to limit your wheat and rice carbs, veggies and fruits are better for you and have carbs as well. Protein enough to fuel you, but dont over do it because too much protein turns into fat Smiley smile. Good luck

I’m in the same boat! I’m about halfway through my weight loss and I have 5 more months to fit back into my dress. I’m using MyFitnessPal to track my calories and activity. I am eating smaller portions and a lot of exact portion sizes according to labels. Lowered my carb intake and a lot of cardio and calisthenics! I need to work out more often but I do anywhere from 1-2 hours on the stationary bike a week. Also a premium gym membership at EOS is only $25 a month. No contract and it’s month to month. Cancel any time!!
Best of luck! You’re going to look amazing!! ❤️

I agree with Aimee! Use the MyFitnessPal app and make sure you log everything in and don’t go over your calories. You get extra calories for exercise. It’s the only thing that ever works for me because it forces you to be honest with yourself. Good luck girl! And congrats on your engagement!

Weight watchers. I am down 15lb in 6 weeks and kept it off for a year now without feeling deprived. Yes there will be hard days but generally very doable and sustainable.
