Wedding under $10,000

Melissa, on August 15, 2015 at 11:02 AM Posted in Planning 1 25

Hey y'all! I'm trying to plan our wedding for under 10k. I'm looking for a venue in the DFW area that includes tables, chairs, and linens in the rental fee. I also want a place that allows us to bring our own alcohol. I know most that have a BYO alcohol policy require security and a TACB certified bartender and that's totally fine. Any suggestions?

(We are looking to get married on one of the last two weekends in June 2016....and input would be greatly appreciated!)

I'm not familiar with the area, but the easiest way to stay within budget is to limit the size of the guest list. Get quotes from different venues to figure out what it will cost per-person, and then decide how many people you can afford to invite based on that.

Check out wedding-spot.com, it made my venue search go so much quicker.

Waiting until winter will get you better pricing. June is right in the middle of wedding season. Also, bumping because we have quite a few Dallas brides on here

Try community centers or any place that is not designed specifically for weddings. Most of the time they also include the table and chairs.

June is a tough time, price wise; no one will negotiate with you because those dates are going to be filled at full price. What about April or July? Keep the guest list small, the bridal party small too.

I'm not in Dallas but I'm assuming they have Banquet halls there. During my search, they are all-in-one. Food, liquor, table, chairs, linens, servers, she, etc. 100 people were less than $10k

Carrollton plaza arts center but you would have to do a lot of DIY.

Melissa I am a DFW bride as well! We recently looked at NorthEast chapel in Hurst TX. The venue was gorgeous, but if I go w/this venue we may not get a wedding under 10K...I am actually going to an open house at the Rose Chapel in downtown Fort Worth tomorrow. My friend got married their and the venue was beautiful. and I did a quote on wedding-spot and it quoted me a pretty good price...so i'm really hoping that quote reflects what they really offer when I go there tomorrow.

Also, try checking out White Chapel Estates and Gardens (also in NRH) they pretty much offer EVERYTHING for a decent price as well. They also allow to bring your own alcohol. I also went to a wedding there and i was impressed.

Keep that guest list small. Pick your top two things that are most important to you and understand that EVERYTHING ELSE is able to take a budget cut!

We wanted good photos and good food. So everything else sacrificed. We are having a Chicago North Shore (very affluent area) wedding for under 10k. Less than 100 guests. Reception will be at a restaurant. No DJ.

Thank you all for your input!

@FutureMrsD. Let me know how you like Rose Chapel. We are touring Northeast Wedding Chapel next Saturday and Green Oaks Chapel on Sunday. I'm going to do my best to stay within budget, but I feel like it's going to be a tight squeeze. I'll definitely look into the others you mentioned Smiley smile

I'm not in Dallas but I do come from Texas. Cadillac Bar has rental fees where what you pay for includes the food, booze, linens etc. for our wedding reception I think it's a little over 3,000

That is extremely doable in Texas! We had our ceremony at Rose Chapel and our reception at Del Friscos, but Rose Chapel does have a banquet hall area. Another, further out would be Ashton Gardens. All-inclusive. I was married in June with 15k budget and had everything from a live band at the reception, DOC, florist, designer dress, and more. Less than 100 guests as well.

I live in Plano and we ended up deciding to get married right outside our home town (abilene) to keep costs low. Have you looked at the surrounding areas? Like Princeton or Royse City?

If you'll consider it, I found some really cute accent and table flowers at silkflowerarrangementsonline.com . They were fun and affordable and I use them in our home now. They're happy mementos for both of us.

I am from the dfw and my price range is around that.. I am getting married at winding Brooks in ennis, tx.. Very beautiful outside ceremony and inside reception. It does include tables but not chairs or linens but you can bring your own alcohol. Very affordable and try pretty. They have a website I'm not sure exactly what the link is but you can google the name and it will pop up Smiley smile

ETA- the venue cost $2700 for me and I am having my wedding during wedding season on a Saturday so that's with no discounts.

Our wedding was under $5,000. It's possible. Know what you want, keep it small and sweet, and try to do a lot of things yourself.

We by no means had a 'fancy' wedding, but our wedding was perfect for us.

Goodluck! I am finding food is the biggest expense. Do a lot of DIY and the White Chapel Estates in North Richland Hill is one of the best deals around !
