Wedding seals versus wax

Wax seals look nice originally but if you are planning on sending your invites through the mail they will caught, scraped, and ripped up with the sorting machines. I would just do the sticker. No one keeps the envelope anyway.

I was thinking of doing wax seals but it is too much cost, time and effort for me to do 150+ envelopes.

I don't know the answer to this, as I am puzzling over the same question myself. However, I have heard that the wax seals can make it difficult for your invitations to go through the post office. That machine that they run them through to post mark them cannot always accommodate thicker envelopes and/or wax seals.

I'm hoping someone here has had experience with this and can tell us what they have experienced.

So I ended up going with sticker seals. They are embossed and personalized. It was 30 for $3.99 on ebay. I wanted to do wax seals but a coworker of mine did hers about 3 months before mine and she said it was very difficult to get them to look perfect (& shes super OCD). She said after ruining about 1/3 of her envelopes she just bought some seals.
I personally think they are beautiful but being I'm doing EVERYTHING by myself I simply didnt have the time for it.

I bought a custom embosser from SayaBellStamps on Etsy and the stickers came out great!

The wax seals can cause your invitation to be non machinable, which can cost more. I would go with the sticker.

Thanks everyone. I took your advice and decided against the wax seals. I ordered the stickers through Zazzle. They should arrive by Friday. I am going to send out the invitations this weekend.

We did wax seals with a stamp that matches our invites. I did them in batches, so it wasn’t as time consuming as I originally thought it would be. I addressed and stamped all the out of state invites first, and then moved on to those who live in the same state/city.
