Hello,
Are wedding planners needed to plan a wedding? Will it be easy? We have no one to help us and both of us are busy..Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

We had a full service wedding planner and it was 100% worth it. With that being said, they are extremely expensive so if you have a smaller budget I don’t think it makes sense.

I’m having a much smaller wedding and felt no need for a planner or DOC. It can be done on your own.

We didn't have a wedding planner, and we were planning long distance. We just kept it simple--ceremony in a synagogue, and reception in a restaurant--to limit the number of vendors we had to deal with and the amount of planning we had to do.

For a more complex wedding, it's really just a question of whether you have more time or more money.

Depnds on the size of your wedding and how long you have to plan. We hired a month of/day of coordinator to help with all the last minute stuff. I work full time and I'm planning everything myself. It's very time consuming.

I'm working 80+ hours a week at 2 full time jobs right now. I still dont see the use for a wedding planner. It's up to each individual. I just dont trust some stranger to bring my ideas to life.

I work two jobs and am planning by myself. It can be stressful but if you use all the resources that are out there then you will be fine. I wasn't going to spend even more money to have someone else plan my wedding.

Wedding planning is very time-consuming, but I've loved doing it all myself! I've been dreaming about planning my wedding since I was bout 5 years old, though. We got engaged on Easter and have about 90% of the wedding planning done and have for a few weeks. I plan events pretty frequently so wedding planning hasn't been that different. I, honestly, haven't had much stress with it either.

Ive a friend that's a wedding planner and to be honest she had a lot of good ideas but at the same time it kind of felt like it was more for a higher end wedding than mine aha. As in, her ideas or vendors she had in mind were pricey

I paid $12k for a wedding planner and my total budget was around $100k. But I live in a very high cost of living area. I have friends in the south who paid around $6k for a wedding planner.

We have a planner and day of coordinator. That being said, a wedding can absolutely be planned without one. If you are someone who is organized and enjoys planning, you can do it by yourself. I have actually been extremely involved in my entire planning process. I do, however, think a DOC is a must. They will be the point of contact for all of your vendor on the day of your wedding and they keep the flow going all day so you don't have to be bothered with or stress about anything.

Hey @Cliodhna we met with a wedding planner and she seemed to be good but costly... Looking at our budget we decided not to go with her and try to do it alone. After all I’ve dreamt about my wedding from small days and others comments inspired me to do ours alone too... 🙂
