Overrated! I just asked my girls and they where so happy to be with me on my special day they did not miss them a bit (one actually told me she was glad I did not do them)!

I don’t think it’s overrated, but it doesn’t have to be a whole production

The huge production is overrated and an unnecessary expense in my opinion. I think the proposal boxes are cute, but even if I had the money to spend on something like that my MOH would tell me not to.

I don't think it's over- or underrated. I think asking someone in the way you want is perfectly fine. Also, I feel like the person being asked is going to feel pressured no matter what. Who actually is excited to say no to being in a bridal party? I did pretty cheap proposal boxes and everyone loved them. I just think it's personal preference and "know your crowd."

For me it's overrated, but I can see why people enjoy it.

Cute if in budget, but definitely overrated. I plan on getting thank you gifts, but "proposals" are unnecessary.

I think there are better and more special ways to ask. I illustrated a drawing of me and my sister and framed it, and wrote her a letter. To me that's more memorable and cheaper than buying them something.

These are a sweet thought for brides that can afford it, but I believe its totally overrated. Here is another trend that is very popular on pinterest that is totally unnecessary. I myself didn't do this for the simple fact as I couldn't afford it. We are in the same boat as many and paying for everything ourselves, so this expense just simply wasn't justifiable to me. My ladies and his men were honored by us just asking, they didn't need some trinkets they probably wouldn't use.

Overrated. I wish I would've saved that money and time for now toward the end of wedding planning.

Overrated and not necessary. I made a photo meme using Canva to ask my MOH to be apart of my day. Free and easy and it done.

    Over rated. Totally unnecessary.
I don’t think I ever actually even asked mine. One was my sister so duh she knew she was going to be a bridesmaid. One day i just said we need to go look at dresses.
The other was my BFF and the night I got engaged she was already telling me all these little things and I said you’re going to be a great bridesmaid and that was that.
I’ve been a bridesmaid 3 times and a simple hey will you be my bridesmaid was all that was necessary.

Both... if you have the money for it, why not do something nice for the girls? I am treating mine to a brunch and bubbly. I will be gifting them proposal boxes filled with a robe, candle, champagne, chocolate, candy, and little favors along with personalized notes.

Probably overrated. But I still gave my bridal party a bottle of wine/beer with a personalized glass with a cute note. Inexpensive and thoughtful. And I wanted to.

TOTALLY overrated! If a bride really wants to do them, that's her choice. I just think it's an expense that isn't needed.

I say overrated, even though I did do small boxes. They already knew but I was so excited so I invited them all to breakfast and gave them a little gift.
