What is his reasoning for wanting an Irish accent?

That is very specific. Why does he want someone with an Irish accent?

Agreed I'm also curious why he wants someone with an Irish accent? Is he Irish?

Since you're in California, maybe you can find an actor who can do the Irish accent and s/he may even be allowed to officiate.

For a Sat. in June, you may have to settle for an officiant w/o an accent -- if you can find one at all.

Hi Isla, welcome to WW! Make sure to upload a picture for your avatar (instead of the default icons) so that we can get to know you and tell you apart from all the other posters. You can do this on a desktop computer under My Settings and Profile and Privacy Settings.

Why does your fiance want an officiant with an Irish accent? And where have you been looking?

I think your FH is going to have to accept that what he's hoping for is far too particular, especially since you're now operating on trying to book someone on fairly short notice. He's looking for something that likely does not even exist in your area. Your "best" chance of finding someone with an Irish accent is to start searching Google for wedding officiants Ireland, and paying to fly them in and put them up in a hotel for a couple days, on top of the fee you need to pay them. Ask your FH whether he's so intent on the Irish accent that he's willing to shell out nearly $2000 for it.

There is a whole lot of JUDGING on here, and NOT a lot of real help. Trollers should not be commenting on this - poor person just WANTS WHAT THEY WANT! Why does anyone else on here care about the WHY? It's none of your business WHY they want what they want. Jeez. Either help, or if you cannot, then move on somewhere where you CAN be of more help.
