Wedding Massages

As a massage therpist, my gift to all of my friends for their weddings was a massage. Most of them had it done the morning of the wedding to relax them. I highly suggest some sort of relaxation before the big day!

Thanks, ya'll. The first classes a LMT will take are business and ethics. Next, ALL MTs I know including business owners barter. We all have accountants as well, mine I also barter with. Sarah, if we were friends and you wanted the gift from me to be a massage, i'd certainly love to be able to do that. I haven't run into a friend yet who didn't ask for the gift of massage, but when I do, I'll be sure to post.

I get a massage every chane I get. My massage therapist knows where to focus without me even telling her anymore. FH on the other hand is not a fan. I treated him to a couples massage earlier this year it was his first proffesional one. Let's just say I'm leaving him home from here on out. I personally would love a gift certificate to get a massage the week of my wedding.

Future mrs p, great that you have a MT you like and can trust. The more a MT gets to work on a client, the better the sessions usually get because we know excatly where your usual problem areas are.

@ Sarah C, I do believe everyone who mentioned that getting massages are creepy/weird said that it was greepy if it was done by a friend, and they perfer people they don't know to do it.

IMO putting makeup on or taking pictures and performing a medicinal treatment are totally different things.

Am I the only one that wants one the day after the wedding? Maybe I'm not properly thinking this out, but I'm getting mani/pedi the day before and my hair done the day of, I was thinking I'd cap the weekend off with a couples massage as a nice wind down to a busy busy weekend.

I honestly can understand why people feel uncomfortable..with 'knowing' someone...for example my brother owns his own dental practice...FOR YEARS i refused to go to him, he's my brother and having the guy who used to threaten to give me a swirly filling my cavities is weird. However, After losing my health insurance...its been very beneficary to have him. And many times (ESPECIALLY when I had insurance) I relied on him as a trustworthy second opinion. Before my wedding he is replacing all my crowns and giving me and FH professional whitenings. I dont see harm in taking advantage of a friend 'hooking you up".

Wait. Who am I jealous of? Aside from myself, I mean.

"jus jellus" is a tween retort. Grown women say eff you.

I would love a massage before the wedding or the day of if I had time for it, on the close friend thing, jury is still out for me on that one, it would depend on how close the friend is. But I'm no judge to others who may feel different than me, to each his own I say.

Claudette, you should totally find one. Avoid "chain" places like Massage Envy. Instead, search Nationally Certified Massage Therapists in your area. I believe it will even tell you how long they've been practicing. Massage businesses usually have websites with bios so you can read about and choose your MT from there, too.
