We just decided that we are going to postpone our August 15 wedding to 2021. Just waiting to confirm a new date with our venue. Two thirds of our guests are not in driving distance and must make a cross-country flight to SoCal, and second, while we think biz will be back up and running, we aren’t sure social distancing will be over. We don’t envision a wedding with people sitting two chairs apart and wearing masks after flying 6 hours to get here and celebrate together.

I can’t say whether or not it’s too early for you. But for us, and the number of our guests needing to book or rearrange travel, this felt right. We’re disappointed, but are at peace. Which likely means it was the right decision for us. Good luck!!

My wedding was supposed to be June 6th. We reschedule for August 1st. However, we are not considering rescheduling again for 2021. We are consider that the social distancing and gathering size will not go back up by the time our wedding is supposed to be here. We have guest coming from out the country too. It is so hard to say how things will be come June. We are hopefully they will have things under control come next summer.

A good amount of our guests are driving distance and they would be able to make it but that’s something to definitely consider, thanks so much for the feedback and for sharing ! I appreciate it, congratulations ❤️

    Hi Ashley,

I'm sorry you're having to think about postponing your August wedding on top of planning your big day. eyFYBiGtFgC4Ag-LxBWWMP5UvJmt7cCKk6ZuRGas

I agree with the recommendations above. While this is definitely an uncertain time, it seems like plenty of August couples are waiting to make postponement decisions. Of course, everyone's situation is different, so it never hurts to be proactive about plan B!

Our venue and vendors have offered to postpone if necessary, free of charge. The only fallout we really foresee is if people are traveling and incur a change fee. We are rolling the dice! (Portland, OR getting married August 22nd)
