So at first i was going to order some from minted with my coupon for half off but it was still 350! I really don't want to spend that much. What are some affordable ways to make invitations myself? I would like them to look elegant, rustic is not my style.

Bought papers from Hobby Lobby and a duo pack of card/envelopes and ribbon. Lined the envelopes with cut paper and made the invitation and RSVP cards myself. Cost in total about 250.

They turned out so good, Lucrecia! When will you send them out?

I guess this only helps if you're tech savvy and have a little bit of an eye for design. I designed my invitations myself and got them printed at gotprint.com I printed them as a "postcard" and they came out perfectly. There are also invitation suites on Etsy. they're like $15 for the template. You just put in your own information and get them printed. The printing company I chose sent me 100 invitations for $40. You could probably get them printed at Fedex or staples too.
