What are you doing for wedding favors? I was for sure going to do stemless wine glasses with personalized writing with our names and the wedding date on it, then lately I came to thinking I’m not too sure about it... Please help with ideas. Thank you 🥰

We're making homemade jelly, and we may do Apple Butter as well because it's an October wedding. It's relatively cheap, plus DELICIOUS, and I love that we can do it way in advance so it doesn't interfere with other wedding planning duties nearer to the wedding.

We aren't doing favors. Most of the time they get left behind or tossed anyways. Besides, the only money our guests have to put out for day is their gas. And if they ask we could cover that too (I've budgeted for extras like that). They're getting free food and entertainment, plus they're all close family so we don't need to do stuff like that. It's an added expense that we feel in unnecessary.

I know, right? No guest has ever said, "Wow, the food & drinks were delicious. Loved dancing. What a fun wedding...wait! Where the heck is my koozie?!!!!"

Our gifts are a little different, since we're getting married on Halloween, we're having a candy/caramel apple bar where guests will be able to decorate their own apple as a parting gift.

We are doing Tic Tacs with custom labels on them and standard Hershey's Kisses. We'll put everything in small organza bags. Done!

We are doing Fall Flowers seeds and vegetables seeds with a sign that says "Let Love Grow" since our wedding is in the Fall. We are also having personalized Candy Bars in the tables though. We may do cookies if we have enough money.

We are getting married right before Christmas so our favors will also be the escort "cards" and will be personalized ornaments with each guest's name and a symbol to represent their table. All our tables are themed as a place from a book/movie/video game and so the ornaments will have something from that book/movie/game on the front and the guest's name and the year on the back. For example 2 of my sisters plus their dates and my niece and nephews will be sitting at the Hundred Acre Woods so their ornaments will have Winne the Pooh and friends on them and my college friends (French majors) will be sitting at Asteroid B-612 and will have Le Petit Prince on theirs. They will all be fairly small and since they are seasonal can be stored with the rest of people's holiday decorations (and people are being placed at tables based on the literature/movies/games they like so it will be a design of interest to them).

I am all about giving them something that reminds them of us AND is useful. I'm known to always have a hand fan when we go out so I am working to get some personally inscribed with our names and wedding date. Though I see no problem with making the item personal (we have koozies with a friends wedding date on them that reminds us of their special day) I would refrain from wine glasses. I'm also refraining from doing foods. I never eat the candy I get from the wedding. In my experience most ppl dont. I dont want to spend money on food, even if it's an inexpensive route to take, and most ppl either not take the favor or take it and not eat it.

I honestly find favors so pointless and a waste of money. I skipped favors all along but I did have welcome bags since it was a destination wedding. I included items I knew people would need and use such as a hangover kit which was very much used by most. I included mints, tequila bottles, tabasco and tajin since our wedding was in Mexico. Our guest really loved this and this was sort of like a favor in a way.

We are providing takeout bags for our late night snack. They can grab some donuts on the way out of the reception. Most people don't take favors in my experience so we didn't want to waste the money on them since we're trying to budget.

We are skipping favors and instead are donating to the platelet disorder association as my fiance has an autoimmune disease that attacks his platelets. Less work for me and money goes to something that could help him in the future. Also, so many favors just get left at tables/ thrown out or just never used. I've been in and attended many weddings and I use one of the favors I was given. It's a coaster and to be honest, I use it because I had it. Call me a horrible human but.....
