Wedding Dress Shopping???

JJAF, on August 26, 2017 at 7:29 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 52

Who did/are you bring(ing) with you when you go wedding dress shopping?

How many people are you limiting it to??

I definitely know to keep the number of people I bring with me low, but wanted to know who you brought/are bringing with you to yours!! Smiley smile

I brought my mom, sister , best friend with me. They were great. But I also knew exactly what I wanted and no one tried to tell me to do anything different

I plan on taking my mom, my sister, and one of my best friends. I have already shown them examples of what I think I like. I booked my appointments today for October 8th!

My best advice is keep it small! my first engagement I took my mom, FMIL, and a few ladies from my bridal party. it was overwhelming because there were way too many opinions flying around. this time around I planned to only bring my mom and FMIL, BUT I am buying a dress second hand, so I'm avoiding the typical dress shopping experience altogether

I went out of town to visit my MOH first and we went dress shopping. I was pretty set on a dress but wanted my mother to come with me.

Made an appointment a little while after I got home. Brought my mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin. Fell in love with something completely different than I thought I would when I had their perspective and the pushed me to try on different things I thought I didn't want.

I just brought my sister (who is also my MOH). She lives out of town, so having her here was really special and one of the things we could do wedding-wise together. My mom will attend fittings and alterations with me, as she lives in town.

I took my mom and my brother, but only because they were visiting from out of town and he was too young to stay alone. He played on his iPad the whole time. If I had gone back to my hometown to shop I would've taken a couple friends

My parents live 6.5 hours away. So to me it was important that they were there when I found my dress. So I went to visit went shopping with my mom, dad, and 7 year old niece (who is my life) and that was it!! I don't regret not having anybody else there. Of course I did want my bridesmaids there but my parents and niece were the most important for people to me to have there so I am happy I made that decision.

One of the places I'm going has a limit of 4 people so I'm just using that as and excuse to why I'm only inviting my parents and my sister. I just don't want a lot of people because it seems like it'll be overwhelming!

I had to drive 5 hours to try on my dress as local stores didn't carry the one I HAD to try on but they would order it. My FMIL lives 2 hours away from where we ended up. I invited my 2 BMs and my daughter (MOH) and FMIL and my step mom. That weekend ended up not being the way it was planned so my step mom didn't make it. She face time with my daughter for the appointment. My dad got a bit of input too.

I brought only my mom and my MOH/only sister. It was perfect! I got to make my own decision, but also knew they would be honest with me.

I went with 5 other people: my mom, my FMIL, my two FSIL, and my little sister. I also had my best friend on Skype because she lives in FL.

It was probably my only time dress shopping since I have other plans for acquiring my dress. It was super important to me that my mom be there when trying on a wedding dress for the first time. She never had that experience with her mom. ETA: I had my FSIL's there to talk me down from the emotional cliff that would lead me to buying a dress.

I am going for the first time next week and am bringing my mom, sister, and 2 friends, who will probably be in my bridal party. My shop had a limit of 4 guests. I may go again with just friends, but my family will be here from out of state and I wanted to share the experience
