Wedding dress opinion

So I’ve already bought my dress and I love it! It came in not too long ago and I went to try it on immediately of course. When I showed my future mother in law these pictures all she said was, “why do you look pregnant in it? It looks like you have a belly sticking out” then she proceeded to zoom in on my stomach area in the picture. I just stared at her with my mouth open. I didn’t even know what to say. Then she said “well, it’s a nice dress, I’m just being honest”. Do I really look bad in it? Should I wear spandex under it? Or is she just being mean? We usually get a long well so I don’t know why she would deliberately be mean. The only issue with spanx is the back is very low. Any suggestions if I go that route? She just has me feeling really bad about myself now and I’m very upset. My fiancé said she didn’t do it to be mean and she probably thought she was “helping” I don’t see how that’s helping though, because now I feel like not eating until November.

Side note, I’ve already lost 17 pounds and she knows how hard I’ve been working at my weight.

Omg no it’s the lighting where you have a depression below your tummy. You look great!

First of all, you look great! I think it's the lighting in the picture. Its casting a shadow in your groin area. I wouldn't even worry about it.

That wasn't nice of her, even if it wasn't intentional, you don't say that to someone! You look beautiful in that dress! I don't notice your belly at all. As long as YOU feel beautiful in it, that's all that matters.

The dress looks beautiful on you, i dont think you look pregnant at all, and i think the lighting in the picture is deceiving especially in the first picture just because of the way the lights and shadows are, but u look amazing and in way do u look pregnant, i do not think u need spanx nor do u need to worry abt looking pregnant because u r beautiful and the dress is gorgeous on you!!!!

The lighting looks pretty harsh there.

You look great! She is honestly a butthead. I have a fitted dress. I got some compression type underwear at Target that are not hard to get on/off. My body type looks similar to yours and I just wanted things to look smooth in my dress which is a crepe fabric. No beading or lace, no give lol. What you can do is grab a couple types of shapewear and try it on with your dress and return what doesn't work. But truthfully your stomach is not protruding. You look great. Your dress is beautiful. Don't let anyone make you second guess yourself!

Wow, that’s so unfortunate that she said something. Weather it’s true or not, the dress is already bought so why say something that might make you fall out of love with it?

I think you look amazing! People often forget that a flat belly isn’t something a lot of women can realistically have. We’ve got a lot going on in our bellies month to month! Be proud of yourself for the progress you’ve made so far and don’t let her make you feel bad. I ALWAYS wear spandex under dresses just so I don’t chafe, but if it makes you feel better give it a try. Don’t forget that most pictures will be focusing on you and your new husbands glowing faces, so don’t get caught up on being insecure about this one area!

I wish I look that good in my dress! You look beautiful.

I wouldnt worry about it. It has to be the lighting. And professional pictures will have better lighting. You have nothing to worry about. Do not deprive yourself of food. You will end up looking sick for your wedding. You look great !

You sure don’t look pregnant! You look great! Actually looks like you can take it in a bit if you wanted to Smiley smile . Pay no mind to that weird comment lol . I just had my alteration consultation and based on what she told me you wouldn’t need spanx at all and I have a similar dress to yours .

I don't see what your FMIL saw. It' s just the lighting! I hope you don't stress over this as you look amazing.

I had the same issue with my dress 👗 in the same area, ( it’s not the lighting) it is fixable though. I had to get mine altered a little. Here is a before and after picture. The seamstress took it up a little on the shoulders and took it in a little on the sides.

You look gorgeous! Mermaid and Trumpet style dresses will almost always show a little belly. It's just how they are cut. I think you look amazing in it though! No spanks or dieting needed.
