Wedding dress budget?

Jami, on July 18, 2020 at 9:17 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 45
Did you set a budget for your wedding dress? did you go over your budget? I found my dress today and I went way over budget. My budget was 5,000 and I spent 7,400. Im feeling really bad now for splurging like this on a dress for one day but it was absolutely gorgeous.

I went way under budget aha. Hey if you can afford it and you can’t see yourself in anything else then it’s all good

I found a dress that I loved online and made an appointment. Because my stepdad offered to pay for my dress (so generous of him) so I based my budget on that amount. Most people pick a range. Anything over I paid for kinda thing.

I didn’t have a set budget when I went shopping, but I knew I didn’t want to go too overboard. Luckily the dress I fell in love with was only $2500. And my mom graciously paid for it!

I set a budget for my dress, and my dress ended up being a fair amount under budget.

Definitely set a modest budget. You're only going to wear it not even a full day. Think outside the box to save money by getting a bridesmaid dress in white or having it custommade on Etsy or locally if you don't find what you love in the stores.

I didn’t set a budget for the dress. But only spent $1k. Unlike most brides, the dress was not at the very top of my wedding list because I knew I’d look beautiful regardless. I found the perfect dress for my taste and the style of the wedding (never went dress shopping, found it online at a bridal salon in another state, bought it, had it shipped, it fit perfectly and that was that). Lol

I didn’t know how much dresses cost. I wanted to spend around $500. I bought my dress for just under $800 and then $100 on alterations. It was more than I wanted to spend but I wanted a nice dress. $7400 is more than half my entire wedding budget! I couldn’t imagine spending that much on a dress. Like i think it would literally make me sick, $800 was even hard for me to stomach. But, if you can afford it and it’s in your budget don’t worry about it

Budget was originally $1000 then I brought it down to $500 after I did my online searches. I was fortunate enough to receive a donated dress less than a year old in the style (off shoulder mermaid with a long train) I wanted. I did buy another dress for $75 from Poshmark for a possible elopement style photoshoot.

My budget was about $1200, was willing to spend more if I found something I loved. I ended up spending just over $1000.

My original budget was $1,500 and I ended up spending $1,200. There was a $3k dress I was seriously considering buying but I wanted to hold off cause I knew there were other parts of the wedding that either of us might have wanted to splurge on later. That splurge might end up being transportation.

I did set up a budget of $3,000 but I ended up paying $2,000, anyways I have to add my hairpiece, veil and accessories hahahah and that’s extra. If you can afford it and is the dress of your dreams IT IS OKAY 👰🏼💕

I budgeted $1500 for my dress and got it for $300. After alterations, it’ll still have me under half my original budget (which is great as I may be getting a second dress for Plan C, if we have to go that route).

I didn’t set a budget but I waited for this wedding for 23 years after we eloped, so... yeah. I love it, I got it. I think it was $2400 plus $800 alteration in total.

I went over budget. I wanted to only spend $250 and got a $500 dress. This didn’t include alterations!

I have 2 dresses and both of them with alterations came to $3,000. My mom paid for my reception dress which was about $800, and I paid everything else. I didn't have a budget, I just knew what I wanted.
