Wedding dress budget?

Did you set a budget for your wedding dress? did you go over your budget? I found my dress today and I went way over budget. My budget was 5,000 and I spent 7,400. Im feeling really bad now for splurging like this on a dress for one day but it was absolutely gorgeous.

I told myself I wasn’t spending over $700. And I did a ton of research online for David’s bridal before I went to try anything on.
My dress originally was priced at 1250 but was marked down to 500!!!
Beyond happy with that deal 😁

My budget was 500, ended up spending 680 after asking for a coupon to be used, otherwise it would have been more. I really loved the dress and it was perfect so I was willing to go a little more. It was still hard to stomach though....

It’s all relative. The important thing is how do you feel about the dress?

I budgeted for $3000 but went over budget at $3330. The dress was actually $3700 but since my appointment was originally scheduled during the designer’s trunk show (appointment was cancelled due to lockdown in May), I asked if I could still get a trunk show discount and got it!

Don’t feel bad if you can afford it. While you’ll only wear this dress for once, you’ll be feeling beautiful in it and will have pictures of you in it for a long time. And maybe the dress will find another use after the wedding.

My budget was $1,200 and I only spent $600 so I was very pleased! I was looking at price tags a little bit but decided that I would get whatever dress I LOVED and I got lucky!

Don’t give it another thought, girl! The money is already spent- no use feeling guilty now. Just be excited about your amazing dress & how beautiful you are going to feel in it!!
And remember, you can always sell it after your wedding & recoup some of the cost!

My budget was $1000 and my dress was $999. With tax of course it was a little over but 🤷‍♀️ If you can afford the dress and maybe cut your budget in other places then I think that's totally okay!

I set a budget of $3000 and went to a Hayley Paige trunk show because I was positive I wanted one of her dresses. The dress was originally $3800 and with the discount it was $3400. Then of course I fell in love with the matching veil at $900 😅. With the discount it was around $700. Next, we’re alternations at $875. All together I spent nearly double my budget, but I’ve dreamt of going to Kleinfeld since i was 13 and i didn’t mind spending the money bc it is perfect! Luckily, my fiancé and I have great jobs, but it is was definitely a crazy amount of money I spent, but I have no regrets!

It's your money spend it how you like. I had a budget for about $3000 and got it for $2500 but the original price was $3900. I initially felt bad about it but now I've made my peace with it. My real splurge is on decor and flowers which keeps going up. You know the saying ...caviar dreams on a food stamp budget...LOLLL

I have a budget of $2k for everything on me that day, so the dress + alterations, veil, shoes, lingerie, etc. I'm hoping to try on dresses in store to figure out what I like and don't like and then order online from Azazie to save money. I'm hoping to end up getting the all of that + a rehearsal dinner dress for under $1000!

Didn’t have a budget to start. Ended going under.
Wedding dress costs are so subjective. I’ve seen people buy dresses from Amazon to ones that are close to a down payment for a house. If you love it then it was worth it!

It’s just money girl. You can’t take it with you and it’s the dress that you loved. My initial “budget” was 6k and I ended up spending over 10k for 2 dresses.

I budgeted for $500 but spent for $750. My parents offered to pay for my dress but I paid as we never discussed a price; instead they paid for my alterations. I was fine going over budget a little as we had been under budget on just about everything else.

If you love it and can afford it, don't feel bad, you want to feel absolutely beautiful/magical even if it is just one day! I paid for my dress so I wanted to stay under $1000 ideally but was willing to go up to $1500. I refused to even look at more expensive dresses because I didn't want to fall in love. I found the perfect dress and was able to get a slight discount making it about $1100. I underestimated alterations though, $700 just to shorten it and add a bustle :0

My parents graciously offered to pay for my dress, so I did ask for a budget. I stayed within that budget out of respect for my parents.

I’m in the same boat! My original budget was $5000 with dress, alterations, and veil I was closer to $7,000. I can afford it though so I didn’t sweat it too much. It’s your special day, do what makes you happy!

If you have the money go for it, it's your special day and you have to feel amazing and beautiful on your wedding day. I am so fortunate that my parents have the means and are paying for my whole wedding. I had originally planned to get a dress that had a budget of 3,000 dollars because I didn't want to go to overboard. I am obsessed with Disney and want to feel like a princess on my wedding day so I found the most gorgeous dress that makes me feel like a princess. It is actually under my budget which makes it even more perfect, who doesn't love saving money!

My budget was $2000 and I found my dress for $1200. My granny paid for my dress because she's amazing! But I didn't look at anything outside the price she gave me. I think if you're paying for your own dress and have the financial means, get what you want!
