Wedding dress budget?

Did you set a budget for your wedding dress? did you go over your budget? I found my dress today and I went way over budget. My budget was 5,000 and I spent 7,400. Im feeling really bad now for splurging like this on a dress for one day but it was absolutely gorgeous.

My budget was 2500 but if I went to 3000 I wouldn't trip too much. After color alterations prices, vial and I think color change it went to...3000 and something. How I set my budget was what my credit card told me to spend and what was in my savings lol. Don't feel bad! If you love your dress you love your dress...and what I'm telling myself is...that one of my future daughters might wear my dress so....lmao...it's an investment!

Also keep in mind we don't know your bank account and career or fiance's career. For all we know you could have saved the moment you met him! It's just money!

If you can afford it and are comfortable spending that then you go! My budget was $1500 and I ended up buying a sample for $1475 so I was right on budgetSmiley sexy , but I tried on dresses up to $2000 and would have spent it for the perfect dress.

My mom very generously paid for my dress, so I explained that her budget was the most important factor in finding a dress. Luckily, I found my dream dress and with all the accessories, I came in exactly at budget.

For me, I have "expensive taste" lol but my fiance is the voice of reason. Because we are paying for the wedding ourselves, me over spending could hurt us in other places because we really are trying to stick with a budget. If it happens that I go over budget (which is likely) we will have to just absorb the cost. Whta I did do was research the dress that I wanted and found the price so I set the budget based on that so really I will be as close to my budget (without alterations, shoes, etc.) that I can be. If you can afford to go over,it's the most special piece of clothing you will have. If you can't really afford it you may have to cut back somewhere else.
