Wedding Dress Belts/Sash

Glam0rous, on October 6, 2015 at 1:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 50

Who didn't wear one or doesn't plan on wearing one?? Who is wearing one or has worn one?! I ordered one and as I keep looking back at the pictures I am not liking it anymore. I just find the ones in the bridal stores so damn expensive. I have looked at Etsy/Ebay and have found some really nice ones for a more decent price but am nervous on the quality once I receive it. Any suggestions?

My dress has a super sparkly one sewn on that they are actually going to remove in alterations... I felt like it just cut me off!

This is the link to the one that i got, its really nice for the price. And considering i will probably be making up my mind on whether to wear it or not the day of its a good thing i didnt spend a bunch.

I did buy one because my dress is pretty plain. It was pretty outrageous at about $70 at DB, but I think my dress needed it. Sorry for the weird angle pic.

I got this one from Lucy Bridal Boutique on Etsy for $25. I haven't tried it on with my dress yet (belt is at my house, dress at mom's house), but I really like it.

I plan to (I don't have too much hesitation about it) order one on etsy. I just love the way it looks with my dress. It defines my waste nicely. If I order mine soon, I will take pics and post for you!

ETA: a while back when I was trying to pick a belt from etsy I photoshopped them onto my dress. I guess I can't imagine the quality being less than great. Maybe I'm overtrusting of etsy!

@GNH, I would have been ecstatic with a $70 belt, that looks fantastic! Mine was $195. The sash part is sheer organza, and I'm having it sewn to the front of the dress instead of tied in the back. Here is picture from a catalog, not on me or my dress.

I am wearing one. It was freaking expensive, but since I got such a good deal on my dress I didn't complain. I stuck with purchasing it from DB to match the colors 100%. Buying online terrifies me when I'm trying to match since colors can vary.

Mine was built in to my dress. Have you tried the WW Bride-2-Bride FB page? Belts and sashes pop up on there pretty frequently.

I bought this off of etsy for $50. The one I wanted in the store was $245. You can't tell the difference in quality to be honest. I love it.

Sharon I love yours! I'm also going to have mine sewn on if my alterationist can do it without any issue. I don't love the ribbon tied on the back of my dress.

I would also be concerned buying it on Etsy, but I think if you can figure out what you want in a store you can probably find one like Melissa did. I wanted one less thing to worry about so I just went for it.

I swapped out the belt from the original to another - I don't want to talk about how much it was, but it looked like it was part of the dress I think even more so than the original -

Pic 1 - how well the belt matches the bead work on the top

    Pic 2 - better look

    Pic 3 -original
