Who didn't wear one or doesn't plan on wearing one?? Who is wearing one or has worn one?! I ordered one and as I keep looking back at the pictures I am not liking it anymore. I just find the ones in the bridal stores so damn expensive. I have looked at Etsy/Ebay and have found some really nice ones...

I just find the ones in the bridal stores so damn expensive. I have looked at Etsy/Ebay and have found some really nice ones for a more decent price but am nervous on the quality once I receive it. Any suggestions?

My friend is looking for one now. Actually, she found a spool of double faced satin ribbon, online for $6.50 (15 feet). She'll cut it to length and add a blinge thingy, from a local fabric store, so what could have cost $225 will cost $25. Since she'll have a at least 5 feet left over, she can keep it for a sash, for a future little girl.

Mine was custom made from an Etsy seller. I loved it. She also made me a matching hair sash. $200 total for both.

Mrs.Reyes2B - https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/bought-dress-in-after-my-first-appointment/58a0de8bb0a269cc.html Here you go! It's unaltered and with a different belt (and I definitely won't be wearing a headband.

@Kiwi I will keep that in mind!! My photoshop skills suck haha. Btw, your dress is beautiful Smiley smile

Can most Etsy sellers custom make the belts if you ask them? Although, I wouldn't even know where to start on how I would want it to look.

@Glam0rous - Thank you! I really do love my dress lol Smiley smile

As for etsy, there are many that do custom. If you wanted to go that route, I would go pinterest hunting if I was you. Look up wedding sash or beaded wedding sash (or belt) and see what you like! Then you can send a message to the etsy seller seeing if they can make it. I will edit this post with links in a sec of some shops I was looking at!

ETA: Okay, these first three links are all shops I had been looking at that do changes to their designs and I believe custom designs as well. The belts they have in stock are also definitely worth a look!

    https://www.etsy.com/shop/LucyBridalBoutique?ref=s2-header-shopname

    https://www.etsy.com/shop/labellechanson?ref=s2-header-shopname

And this link is to a shop that has belts for a great price, although does not appear to do custom. I had looked at theirs as well.

I'm kind of torn on belts. I think a lot of the choice to wear one has to do with your body type. Often, I do find them to be distracting because they force the eye to look at the bride's waistline rather than her face, and I am all about less distracting dresses. But that also means that I am a part of the "I want to focus on your face, rather than your dress" crowd. That being said, belts can be a great way to define your waist and affect the overall silhouette of your look. Maybe try taking some pictures with yourself in the dress with the belt and sans belt and see what you think.
