Wedding Day Lipstick Poll and Pictures

I am following this, having the hardest time finding a lip that I like and that stays on... I am going to try the Kat Von D like you said.

I tried on about half of the Kat Von D shades as well as several of the Sephora stains as well. My poor lips were torn up afterwards. haha By then end, just about every Sephora rep was there giving me their opinions. :-o

My mua used Arbonne Rose lipstick with a gloss that I don't have with me. I loved it. I usually stay more neutral. It didn't rub off as much as I was expecting. I think I reapplied gloss once the whole day and that was after dinner.

I've been thinking about trying out those new lip stains that go on upset glossy, dry and then you peel them off. I don't have a name for them but I've seen them on YouTube.

I'm doing a berry lip for fall and neutral eyes. I'm going with either Mac captive or rebel lipstick with vino lip liner underneath. The lip liner really helps it last! Liquid lipsticks are just too uncomfortable on me and they always crack! Are the Kat Von D ones comfortable?

This is Mac rebel and vino lip liner next to it. I'm leaning more towards this since it is brighter than captive. Had to sneak in a little ring pic since I had the lipstick with me

@Alexandra - I've never heard of the peel-off ones. When I was at Ulta, I told the gal that I was looking for a stain that wouldn't transfer and she pointed me to a "gloss that went on as a gloss but set to a stain." Well, after buying it, getting it home and wearing it for an hour, it was still sticky and transferred like mad. Back that went!

@Sarina - I like that color a lot! The Kat Von D feels dry but after having it on for several minutes and wearing it around the house to see how it performed, I'll say that it felt like I had nothing on at all. It didn't crack at all and I forgot I was wearing anything on my lips till I looked in the mirror. haha

Would you guys always do a liner with a stain? The Sephora person told me to get a liner but Kat Von D didn't use a liner in her video. I wasn't sure if the rep was just trying to make more money.

I would recommend that you go as bold as you are comfortable with. I will be doing something slightly darker than my natural shade (so a soft look). If you go lighter than your natural shade, you will look really washed out.

@Mac Do you have pictures?

I guess if I'm asking others to share pictures, I should too. I'm just afraid it's too bold....

(I cropped as high up as I could because my tshirt the day I tried the lipsticks really clashed! Eek)

Keep in mind my eyes and face will be more "done" as well. The face was my every day makeup. Is it too much?

This is a screenshot so I'm not sure how great the quality is going to be. Anyway... I went with a MAC lip stain and gloss over top of it. I think the color was Viva Glam II or something. I would have loved to go with a red lip since I wear it frequently, but it didn't really fit my look/theme.

ETA: H had to just deal with the gloss for all of our pics haha

Yeah I'm going to have to stay away from the gloss, although I would prefer a little over the stain,but FH hates hates hates kissing gloss. haha

I would use a liquid lipstick rather than a stain. Kat Von D has a good line by also check our Jeffrey Star, Stila, and Anastacia Beverly Hills. My dream wedding lip is Cruella by Nars, but it's not a liquid lipstick, so I'm on the hunt for that color.

I'm definitely going with a lip stain as well. It's the only kind of color I will put on my lips because I can't be bothered to reapply. When I do wear it I usually go pretty bold (like a berry color), but I've noticed it takes away from my eyes a bit. So I think I may go with a lighter pink on the big day so as not to take away from my eyes! ETA: I just saw your photo and I think the color looks great on you!

@Mactobe, I definitely don't think that is too bold. I think it looks lovely! I am someone who never wears a color lipstick, always a neutral for work, but ALWAYS get complimented when I wear a little brighter color and my friends always say how I can pull of a color so well (probably trying to say that I should lol). I think you'd get used to it if you wore it more. A color lipstick can make a huge difference, I am working on getting courage to wear it more!

Thank you! It certainly is taking some getting used to. I'll put it on when I'm home alone sometimes to help me adjust and even went out to pick up dinner over the weekend with it on for shits and giggles.
