I was at Hobby Lobby about a week ago and found this gorgeous bird cage on clearance. I had seen people use bird cages as their card boxes and decided it would be a great DIY project. I am going to weave some ribbon between the cage wires and use different size envelopes to test and make sure guests can get them through the slots.

Kind of like this : http://ever-lasting.net/temp/tn_wedding23.jpg

If you're interested in more pictures or ideas, google bird cage card holder or something like that and you'll see the differnt styles and things you can do with them Smiley smile

Good luck and keep us updated!!

Why thank you, ladylee! I am looking forward to it coming together with a card that says "Cards" or something like that and then strung though a ribbon... and then maybe a few flowers on/around it. I'll let the florist deal with that Smiley winking

I'm making a "cardcake". I got 4 different sizes of round deco-pag (sp?) boxes, I've stacked them and covered one side in scrap-booking paper that I like and the other half in paper that the FH picked out. I got wooden letters of our initals and I'll glue them to the "cake" the K on my side, the E on his and the J were the two sides meet/ the seam. It looks really neat so far. I should be done with it this weekend and I'll put pics up on my IB when it is.

I bought a version of one from Michaels. I want my FH to put a slot on the top for the cards, but he doesn't want to because he thinks the box is nice as is. It has a self-close. We're not worried about stealing as much as we want to keep all the cards in one place.

I'm making my own, search everywhere but they were all so expensive and most were nothing more than card board. So I just got a box and picked out some nice wrapping paper... so far my cost has been $5.00
