Grocery store wedding cakes are delicious. One of the best I ever had as a guest came from a local (not a chain) grocery bakery that was the go-to for family events.

I live in an area where there is a Publix. Two weddings I've been to have used Publix cakes and they are delicious but I'm not sure how extensive they are designs are. I am going to say this I did look into Publix for my wedding cake but I would encourage you to contact other local cake decorators as Publix is trying to capitalize on the wedding industry like most people and their prices are competitive with cake bakers which means that sometimes they charge just as much or more. I know I'm getting more for my cake from a local Baker. No disrespect to Publix and if you want to go with them for your cake I highly support that as again their cakes are good but for me if I'm going for a grocery store cake I was expecting you to pay grocery store prices sorry if I sound stuck up. If I'm going to pay cake baker and decorator Price's then for me personally I would rather support a small business and then at least I know for the most part those cakes and frosting are made in house.

I've tried them before and they were slightly better than average. The best grocery store wedding cake I've tasted was Wegmans.

Hi Patty! I've always heard great things about cakes from Publix (mostly that they are fresh and delicious) - but I don't know anything about their design / decorating work!

Here are a few other discussions you can check out about Publix wedding cakes for more feedback: Publix Florals and Cake, Publix Cakes?, and Publix Wedding Cakes. Smiley cake

I went to Publix yesterday and talk to the head cake decorator I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she then was able to transfer that to one they usually do and fudge but will make it for fudge underneath with the white icing on the outside to make it look like the bark
This is great news and the person who was going to do the cake that was an individual decided she couldn’t 30 days out from the wedding so being a loyal customers Publix and growing up with them in Florida I was extremely happy they were able to provide what I was going to need
They’re going to do the two level cake But it will be a cake that looks like a lighter bark like birchWedding cake 2

Great to hear that worked out.

Do they deliver or do you have to pick it up?
