Wedding bread or "bread and salt"

Caitlin, on December 1, 2011 at 3:56 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

So I asked me FMIL if there was any tradition that she would like to see in the wedding (see Russian and im Canadian) and she said that she really wanted to present a ??????? (wedding bread) When the bread is presented to us (me and FH ) we both take a bit and the person that takes the biggest bit is said to be the head of the family.

So I wanted to know if any one else is doing this?

Do you know what your ??????? will look like?

Here are some pics that i have found Smiley smile

Sounds like a cool idea. FH and I have similar backgrounds so there shouldn't be any traditions that are foreign to me.

My FH is Russian (moved to the US when he was 6) and I hadn't thought about incorporating this into our ceremony, I'll talk to him.

    Great idea thanks for posting!

There are some crazy Russian wedding tradision. Lately I’ve been worried about being kidnapped (the best man [or grooms friends] kidnaps the bride and the groom has to pay to get her back) FH said no one is going to kidnap me but I wouldn't put it passed his friends after a couple drinks
