My FH and I met about 8 years ago through some mutual friends (at a Denny's of all places).  We fell out of touch until about 4 years ago.  I had just gone through a bad break-up (3.5 year relationship where we were planning a wedding) and he sent me a message on MySpace (back when MySpace was the social networking site of choice) reaching out to me, offering support and a shoulder to cry on. I ignored his message for months before I finally replied.  We met up and went on an unofficial first date.  He took me to lunch, then we went frisbee golfing, then we went to a movie, then mini-golfing, then dinner before ending the night at the nickle arcade. We went out as "friends" for a couple of months before I agreed that he could introduce me as his girlfriend at his birthday party. Fast forward six months and I find out that I need to have my first spinal surgery, he volunteers to move in with me so he can help take care of me 24/7 (it was during this time that I first realized that I truly loved him and could picture myself spending my life with him).  A little over a year later I had to have another spinal surgery and he was just as loving as attentive as before. Christmas Eve 2010 he got down on one knee in front of his entire family, wrapped in a gold bow and asked me to marrry him.  Of course I said YES! Since then he has supported me through another surgery, we've moved and adopted another furry family member and are happily planning our wedding.
