Virtual Wedding Invites?

Amy, on April 26, 2020 at 11:58 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
Like many of you have had to do, we postponed our wedding. We decided on what should have been our day (4/25) to just have a small ceremony in our backyard on 6/6 with just immediate family. And yes, we will be taking all of the necessary precautions.

I am trying to figure out the best way to communicate to our other guests that were originally invited that they can watch the ceremony virtually. I thought about sending an evite or an email, but that doesn’t feel formal enough. Buying new invitations doesn’t seem right either. What would you all do?

You could just send one single postcard like a change of plans card

Email or text message. I sent out save the date text messages and will later send e-invites (texting a picture of our invitation)

    Hi Amy,

I think an evite or an email could be sufficient, but it's totally up to you. This global pandemic is unprecedented in our lifetimes, so etiquette hasn't caught up just yet. (Here's a good discussion thread about that: Etiquette in the time of coronavirus? )

On the whole, it seems like couples are choosing to handle various COVID-19 related changes (e.g., postponement or going virtual) in several different ways. Here are some existing discussions with other brides with various ideas/suggestions:

    - Postponed Wedding Invites?

    - Change of date cards

    - Coronavirus Postpone Announcement

I'm wishing you the best for your June wedding ceremony! Smiley heart

I love the idea if i was a guest ill love the expereince of a virtual wedding. I love it! Send a postcard or email/ phone call very brieft of time of the event. This should be fun. During these times i dont think noone would take this anyway...its a good idea for what's happening today as of now in out world. Good luck

I'm trying to figure out the best wording for that too. I need people to understand they are not going to physically attend. Anyone have a template with verbiage I could use?
