Postponed Wedding Invites?

Maureen, on April 5, 2020 at 12:10 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 2

My husband and I had to postpone our wedding ceremony and reception to October, but still had a small intimate ceremony on our planned date. We still are doing the whole big reception, but since we were within 2 weeks of the wedding we already had invites and save the dates budgeted and sent.

That being said! Any brides that had to postpone, are you resending invites to your guests? Or doing e-vites? I'm trying to decide what we want to do since we do have a lot of elderly family members that aren't tech savvy, and some don't even have cellphones! We talked about mailing something closer to the new date to everyone with a link to the wedding website instead of RSVP cards (those were pricey!), but mailing 300 letters is still pricey alone!

Ideas? Thoughts?

We sent a change the date card with a details card in it telling them to RSVP online to our website by a certain date. Rather then sending a change the date & then an invite, which will cost a lot more money.

    Hi Maureen,

Save the (New) Dates and/or revised RSVP cards have become a big question for brides who are navigating the postponement process due to COVID-19. In my opinion, you could do a combination of electronic and printed announcements. For the people you mentioned who are less tech-savvy, a printed note may be easiest and most effective. (You may have to call Grandma and Grandpa anyway to check in.) For many of your other friends, they'll only need a link to RSVP and/or the information on your website for future reference.

Note: If you have a WeddingWire wedding website, you can use the Guest List feature under Planning Tools to collect RSVPs.

I hope you can figure out a way to communicate with your guests without busting your budget. Good luck! Smiley heart
