OP - I'm impressed that you are taking on this project so close to the wedding. The two days before my wedding, I was so stressed I could barely see straight.

I wish you had posted about your florist quote earlier. I live in Texas and had a $6k quote as well.

There were a couple of differences our estimates:

    - The chapel that we were getting married in only allowed for 15 minutes between ceremonies for setup (there are multiple weddings held on Saturdays - each wedding is allowed a specific block of time). My florist had to bring in a crew of six in order to flip the chapel from Christmas decor to the wedding decor. We had garland along the steps into the chapel, garland and a candlescape on the alter and candles with flowers on the chapel windowsills.

    - My centerpieces and bouquets contained ranunculus, peonies, gardenias, etc. A bit higher price per stem.

    - This price also included floral for the cocktail space, which included candles and small floral pieces on the tables. We also had floral for the 'party space' and had floral on the bar, tables and around the cake. (we had three separate spaces at the reception venue). I wish I had the pictures from the party space on my phone to give you an idea of the setup.

I only add this to inform brides who are in the beginning stages of planning to shop around. Don't take one quote as the end all be all (the first florist I met with refused to do the garland on the chapel steps stating it was too expensive for me. Note: I had told her I had an open budget *side eye*). Also, don't be afraid to ask us about our experiences. That's why all of us irrelevants are still around... to help :-)

Really nice! I wish I had the guts to try this. My venue comes with the vases, just like yours. I just need flowers.

Centerpiece, thank you! They were my flowers and I just loved my florist - she really took the time to understand what I had envisioned and made recommendations to build on my ideas. It was money well spent.

Update: all flowers and centerpieces have been successfully transported to the venue where they will stay in the walk in flower fridge until tomorrow. The centerpieces you see here will all sit on top of the tall vases and I will stick a few stems of orchids into the bottom of each so they cascade down. Oasis foam was refreshed with water this morning. It has all gone off without a hitch, I'm super happy with all my flowers, and now going back to the hotel to spend the rest of the day pampering and relaxing!
