Good luck! I'm trying to figure out my own diy flowers (just bouquets and some flowers in the centerpieces) and I didn't think to try Sam's club. Going to look it up now!

I remember there was another poster who did this and her flowers turned out so beautiful. Seems like people are being a lot harder on OP than they were on her. Actually, I don't think the other poster got any negative comments at all. And her arrangements were very "DIY" in the sense that they consisted of only one type of flower.

Not tying to white knight, per se, but let's see how OP's flowers turn out before we roast her for going this route.

Yep, Erin... which is why I opted to have none for my wedding day. I couldn't afford more then a $200 for my bouquet and boutonniere.

Leelee, I am not trying to roast her... I just think she's crazy for attempting this with 2 days. As I stated in my first post, if I'm wrong I will stand corrected... publicly.

The transportable small centerpieces will be donated to my grandmothers nursing home. The larger more unwieldy ones, as sad as it may be, will just go in the trash. It's not worth the transportation to take them anywhere else.

Just curious: how much money does a huge project like this save? You spent what, vs. what it might cost to hire a florist? (Not that I will try it myself! I probably can't afford to have flowers at all.)

Good luck! Looking forward to seeing how it comes out.

Wow!! I'm amazed at how many flowers you and a previous poster are tackling on your own. That is a LOT!!!

I really hope you pull it off. I'm looking forward to your BAM!

Where are you storing these as you make them and when they are finished? It seems like you would need a large refrigerator for these.

    Good luck!

@2nd time- flowers can be really expensive. The first quote I got was $9,000 for less flowers than what OP has. I obviously went with a less expensive florist but I'm sure she's saving a good amount.

They are being stored in a cool dark room with the AC cranked. They actually need to be kept slightly warmer than how you would normally store flowers because they are not yet fully opened.

I can't wait to see. We are doing DIY too, but small table centerpeices. I'm perfectly fine with people saying it's "good enough". They know us well enough to know we are easy going. I'm curious to see, because we were going to go with fiftyflowers. We may just end up doing Sam's club.

NewlyWeducated: This seems like a huge undertaking, but I also applaud you for taking the risk and being positive to the criticism you are facing (for lack of a better word, but the criticism is coming from people who do this work and understand how hard of work it is). I just wanted to jump in and say to please keep us updated as the days go by and say thank you for donating the small arrangements to a nursing home. As someone who used to work in activities in a nursing home we dealt with any flower donations, we and the residents always appreciated it because it is such a treat for some people!
