Unlimited Wedding Budget

FutureMrsChang, on November 1, 2014 at 2:46 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 38

If you all of a sudden had an unlimited budget for your wedding would you go all out? Florals, lighting, linens, photo/video, decor everywhere, huge cake, dress. What would you do different, if anything? And how much do you think you would actually spend if you had no limit...

Everything would be much different. Right now we have a shabby chic vintage feel going on, but with an unlimited budget we would have done total glitz and glamour, like David Tutera style glitz and glamour. Our simple venue would be replaced with something extravagant and the reception would have all the bells and whistles. Don't get me wrong, I love the venue, vendors, and theme we chose, but I don't think that if price wasn't a factor that we would have gone the same route.

I think so too. Even though I haven't planned any part of my wedding yet, I pretty much know what I won't be able to do and what I can do. I was looking through a wedding magazine last night and just seen gorgeous weddings! I wished for a second I was working with unlimited funds. I would invite A LOT more guests and probably have lots of lush floral tablescape with gorgeous linens and invites and stationary that were insanely overpriced. Lol. I would probably be able to spend about 150-200k if I had unlimited funds. BTW I love David Tutera! If I had unlimited funds I would try to make him my planner! Lol.

Honestly if I have unlimited funds I would pay for ridiculously awesome photo & video and cover all participations costs, for all included, guests and bridal party. Flight. Hotel. Outfits, for bridal party and anyone who wanted to feel fabulous. After Party hosted at a Vegas club complete with Transportation.

I got married in Las Vegas at the M Resort w about 70 people and we had a open bar, a DJ, photo booth, cigar roller and a whiskey tasting. All of our guests had a lot of fun but if I had an unlimited budget- I'd keep most of what we did and the same vendors I used but I would've changed my venue to the penthouse suite at Ceasars, invited more guests, and had more entertainment at the wedding like gambling tables to play poker, a strolling magician and I would've hired The Dan Band.

Hmmm great questions! If I had unlimited funds I would have invited all of my family and friends to a paid, beautiful destiny wedding for a weekend long event. I would hire Nathan Fillion to marry us (FH is a big fan). I'd also pay for tons of adventurous excursions and spa treatments. Ahhhhh.

If we had unlimited funds...I would have paid for guests stay at the lodge and for their travel expenses. I also would have added more to the food situation (even though I think we are pretty much feeding people non stop), I also would have hired a wedding coordinator to help me plan, would have hired people to do more of the DIY parts, and would have amped a lot of my choices up...we would also be going to Europe for a river cruise the 25 day one.

If budget wasn't an issue we'd change the venue and pay for transportation for everyone to attend. We love our current venue, but it wasn't our first choice. We'd also upgrade the food for cocktail hour and dinner, and would have a plated dinner vs. buffet. We'd also add a whiskey tasting to the cocktail hour and would splurge for live flowers with lush centerpieces. I think the overall feel of the wedding would go from the current cozy chic/quirky (as fh calls it) to a more sophisticated glamour feel

If I had an unlimited budget, I would have bought out my venue for the day before, after, As well as the day of. I would have upped my photography budget, and done the farm to table food venue choices. I also would have hired a wedding planner and clean up crew if I could!! And you could bet your bottom dollar I would have maxed out my guest list, so many mutual friends have been left out of our guest list because have large families. I also would have bought out the room block for anyone who wanted to stay in the hotel, and had taxis to go to and from the hotel and back.

If I had an unlimited budget I wouldn't do change anything just do it bigger and better. Better food, top shelf liquor and I would probably do a two week honeymoon, first week with friends and family like we are doing and then spend a second week somewhere alone with my FH.

Fun question!! I would have done an all expenses paid trip to Italy for our wedding.

Or, more likely (since FH won't fly) rented out a huge lodging area at Lake Tahoe and paid for everyone to make a week vacation out of it.

I would pay all expenses for the bridal party, change the menu and serve lobster and filet mignon and serve higher end alcohol

If we had unlimited funds, we'd do a more high end caterer and a bigger bar selection. I also would go to Klienfields in NYC to get my dress! And do a lot less diy projects- like hiring a baker instead of making our own cupcakes. I think the vintage theme would stay the same but just a more high end/polished feel over all.

Eta: oh and also do a bigger better rehearsal dinner for all the OOT guests.

I think I would've gotten a larger, equally spectacular venue (I'm obsessed with mine, but it only fits 200 and is limiting our invites tremendously due to us having large families and many close family friends). Obviously would've added obvious things like videographer and a photo booth, and on top of that would've tried to pay for guests' hotels or maybe transport everyone home at the end of the night in a limo!

If I had an unlimited budget, I'd be getting married at a country house in England.

Flowers. Lots and lots of gorgeous flowers everywhere.

Like Andi said, I'd pay for everything for everyone for the whole weekend. And I'd probably get the best videographer known to mankind. Otherwise, I'd keep mostly everything the same.

If we had unlimited funds - the main thing I would do is pay for all the airfares for my family so they can come. At the moment it's looking likely that a lot won't be able to afford it.

Other than that the only other thing I wish I could have but can't afford is a photographer. Everything else is pretty much how I want it anyway - low key and personal.

With an unlimited budget, I would have wanted to get married on a beautiful plantation in Charleston, SC (where I went to college and the city that definitely has my heart...about 3 hours away). It would have been over-the-top most likely. A hotel block completely paid for, paid trolleys to and from ceremony/reception/hotel. Hosted a welcoming party, after party, next day brunch, etc. I'd invite all my teacher coworkers (as it is now, I'm not inviting any coworkers, although I'd like to). Definitely the best photographers and videographers, a sea of flowers, custom-made gown, open bar, my favorite band that is ridiculously expensive to reserve.

Or, I might have an all-expenses-paid destination wedding in Italy Smiley smile (of course with fewer guests, but, still!)

Oooh fun! If I had an unlimited budget, I would probably go nuts on the florals... I would hire a videographer... I love the food we're going to serve, but I would up the cocktail hour even further... I would pay for the costs of all the bridal party (we're paying for hair already but makeup, shoes, dresses, hotel rooms, suits for the groomsmen, etc.)... I would have a string quartet for the ceremony instead of a string trio... and then take a really lavish and long honeymoon!

I love the venue we are getting married at, and we were able to book a date within our budget by having our wedding on a Monday. If all of a sudden I had an unlimited budget, I would plan a bunch of pre-wedding events for the long weekend, pay for everyone's travel and lodging expenses, and I would also upgrade everything to top shelf stuff.

I would fly my closest family & friends to a tropical island to get married. That's what we originally wanted to do but knew some family couldn't afford it.
