Unlimited Wedding Budget

If you all of a sudden had an unlimited budget for your wedding would you go all out? Florals, lighting, linens, photo/video, decor everywhere, huge cake, dress. What would you do different, if anything? And how much do you think you would actually spend if you had no limit...

The only thing I would really do differently is have someone else plan and coordinate everything. I would pretty much just show-up, get dressed and walk down the aisle.

I would pay for the awesomest wedding planner ever. I'd show him or her my Pinterest boards and say, "Do this."

I would hire the top videographer in the Philippines (his US commissions start at $9,000!). Every video makes me cry! He's so amazing... sigh.

If I had no limit, our wedding would be around $30k (that is the average price of an open bar wedding in Canada). I would have top shelf liquor, tons of lighting, roses everywhere, and the venue would change to a ritzy spot downtown. But that's only if it would be like, free money. Those things don't really matter. Smiley smile

I do wish we had the money to pay for people's hotels, and do like a really super nice rehearsal dinner somewhere and give our bridal party really nice gifts, etc. But we are doing the best we can for our budget and I know it will still turn out great. Smiley smile

    Fun post!

If I came in to unlimited money for my wedding I would...

Change my wedding date to Saturday instead, to make it more fun for everyone. Hire a professional photographer, have linens and table cloths and chair covers. I would have a professional florist come in and do my flowers and aisle enders and arch. I would buy new invitations and have them all ordered instead of DIY. And have unlimited alcohol. Pay everything off right now instead of one payperiod at a time. I would also rent a driver/car to bring us home after the reception.

But mainly I would put a ton of money towards our honeymoon so that we could do every attraction (swim with dolphins, island hope, learn to surf etc). Also, I would rent a car so we don't need to walk everywhere.

I would go big with flowers and lighting, and food especially. I would definitely pay for everything for the bridal party. I'm such a small spender though, I probably would still try to be economical about it! Oh, and I would rent a vintage car for our send off!

If I would've had an unlimited wedding budget I would get married in Italy and go to Bora Bora for my honeymoon. A girl can dream.

My heart would probably explode if someone told me I had an unlimited wedding budget. Seriously, the possibilities are endless!

The only thing I would have changed is that we would be getting married in the Eileen Donan castle on the isle of skye in Scotland. It was where we were all set to get married until we found out that a lot of close family wouldn't be able to attend so we decided to change it.

Other than that my day was everything I could have wished for. Though I would have bought a pair of Loubs for my wedding shoes Smiley winking

I didn't spend much, but can't think of anything I'd add if I had more money to blow. I had a dress I loved, flowers, food for my guests, a terrific DJ-- nothing else would have added to my (or my guests') experience significantly, and I sure couldn't be more happily married, so I guess I'd have to offer my budget up to people who are having trouble inviting everyone they want. Smiley sexy

I am attempting to keep the wedding around 10k but even if money wasn't an issue, I would try keeping it under 20k. Even if I had the money, I just can't rationalize spending so much money on one day! I know it's an important day, but with 20k I could get married AND pay off my student loans. I just think I would rather spend the money on other things beside the wedding. However if the money was just for the wedding, I would have an open bar and a two week long honeymoon Smiley smile

I would take 40 of my closest friends/immediate family members and get married in a seaside mansion somewhere along the Mediterranean. It would be 3 day, 24 hour party, all expenses paid. Then my new husband and I would spend a couple of weeks country hopping before heading back home.

With a unlimited budget, I would get married in downtown Indy at the Skyline club. The tower has a wonderful view of the city at night. I would have splurged on this photographer I loved but couldn't afford. Go all out with rentals of linens, lighting, glassware. Pay for my bridal parties dresses and makeup to be professionally done. My wedding would be completely glam, lush flowers you name it. Maybe spend 3x's my original buget.

I would rent out the Space Needle with unlimited money, bring in Canlis for catering, top shelf, local distilleries for booze, and pay for everyone's transport and hotel at somewhere like the Edgewater. And bring in Macklemore.

So basically, do our local Seattle theme but on a HUGE scale.
