Zoe, I love your name! I actually married a couple recently, and the groom said that one of the things he loved about her was her exotic name!

If I ever have a girl she will be named Marjorie after my grandmother. For short we would call her Jorie. I like keeping names in the family. To me I want my child name to me something more than it sounded good.

When FH and I have kids, we have agreed on Esme James for a girl. Esme is my grandmas name, and my middle name and we both love it. James is my dads name, my brothers middle name, FHs grandpas middle name...and I have always loved James for a girl, and FH seems to agree with no argument, so I will take it as a win.

Recently though, I have become more obsessed with the name Lennon for a girl. Or a boy. Either way, so much love for the name.

I prefer older names that sound more classic than "cute" and won't cause ridicule and eye-rolling. If we have a girl, we'll name her Evangeline.

All these names are so cute! I think Harper is one of my favorites on here.

I don't have a suggestion for a name, but I just wanted to mention that I have to have a conversation about my name every time, but I don't mind- I kind of like it!

On the other hand, someone I know met someone named la-a (pronounced ladasha).. lol.

@Almost a Mrs. I LOVE your name. Ashlyn is one of my faves, but to make it even more complicated, I'm in love with the Irish spelling Aislinn (which some pronounce Ash-leen, but I prefer the Ashlyn pronunciation).

Other names I like are Emmeline (I like it pronounced Emma-leen instead of Emme-line), Emilia (pronounced like Amelia with the nickname Emmy), Julissa, Reina, Regan (pronounced Ree-gan), Gemma, Aisnley, Katelina, Scarlett, and Michaela.

Can you tell I've thought about this?

Shout out to @Zoe M. I know just what you mean! Growing up, my name was always a conversation! People often asked what kind is name is that? (It's Greek.) I've got trophies and yearbooks with my name spelled incorrectly (Zowie on one, Joe on another.) I have an unusual last name as well, which didn't help. And for years, the only other Zoes I met were dogs and cats. I've always liked it, but went by Z a lot as a kid. (Better than Zo, IMO.) And now it's very popular! I think it's climbing into top 50 range! Suddenly, there are Zoe novelty items, something I never once had as a child. There's a plus and minus to everything, I suppose. I wouldn't change my unique name for anything, even though it's not really unique anymore.

Agh I love little girls names. When I was pregnant I had like 20 girls names picked..then I had a boy! Didn't name him til the day he was born lol. Royal Lorenzo is his name (parents were upset I didn't give Italian first name..oh well) Yes, I like unique, but easy to say names Smiley smile I was nervous people would judge after the fact but everyone compliments his name!

I swear I know 4 Harper's that were born over the past couple years. It's too popular to me.

If I ever got accidentally knocked up and it was a girl, we like Rowan.

Second post - I too love the name Aurelia like Caitlin T. suggested. It's my sister Dana's nickname. (Dana also being a less than usual name.) FH plan to name our potential baby Nola. I love the name and it makes him think of New Orleans, LA. Where his family hails from.

@Elizabeth, so funny story my name almost got my kicked out of Costa Rica. When said with an Spanish accent, Ashlyn sounds like Ash-LEEN. Because I only spoke a tiny bit of Spanish when I went, I thought the customs officer was just asking me another question (the word Hicen was in mind and I have no idea what it means). He looks at me with this super stern face and goes "that's your name, right?" I thought at that moment I was going to Costa Rican jail for having fake papers (which were real). Luckily he just thought I was dumb.

I love Aislinn, but have always heard it said "Aye-s-Lynn"

One of my BM's just had her first granddaughter (5 grandsons) Her name is Abigayle. Another BM became a grandmother to twin girls for the first time December 24th. Her son and DIL love my suggestions: Savannah and Analiese.
