Is anyone worried about unexpected wedding guests coming to your wedding and having to pay for them?

    I don't think it's likely to happen. Much more likely is that @ 1/3 people will not be able to make it; and about 5% of the YES RSVPs will be a no show.

    Most venues and caterers reccomend that you give them a final head count of 5-10% over what your final RSVP count is so that there are no surprises.

    In my humble opinion, if you are so classless as to show up to a special occasion like a wedding uninvited, you don't deserve to be seated at the ceremony or the reception. As a matter of fact, most of the brides I work with will hire security and give them a list of invitees, and if someone decides to rudely bring an uninvited plus one or show up as an uninvited guest (which usually equals wedding crasher anyway), they don't get in. I know it sounds harsh, but if you don't either a) have 5 seconds to mark "yes" on an RSVP card and stick it in the mail or b) you're so rude tht you would honestly think you could bring someone with you uninvited to a $20k wedding because you can't put on your big gir/big boy undies on and brave the event on your own, the sentiment of most of my brides is that they shouldn't be there at all.

    Nope. If their isn't food or space for them they can sit on the floor and eat saltines. I think it would be the last time they ever crashed a wedding.

    @Sass--LMAO saltines!! DAMN straight!!

    @Excited I plan to invite in a courteous way like making sure to invite loong term sig others and giving waay out of town friends a plus one so they have a travel companion if they desire..so I don't anticipate that happening (crashers)..as for RSVP Yes's not showing up, well thats another matter! :-)

    I'm worried about people bringing extra people. It does concern me because some family won't get the hint. That's how I am worried.

    20% of our guest list is active military. I highly doubt there will be anyone uninvited (because I haven't really told uninvited people about the wedding), and if there is, we have our own mini security force!

    Thank all of u guy's for the feedback! @Starlette...LMBO!! Dat is so true and I totally agree! I really like the idea of having a list of the invitees, and giving it to the the officer! (If your on the list u get in...if not then dat means's u were not invited, so go home) I can't believe I'm saying that, but hey sometimes u have to do wat u have to do! I'm sure my FH wouldn't agree with dat, because most of the crashers will be from his side anyway! (As my fiance is Nigerian, and as soon as they here wedding, they come running) lol @Bert's gurl, that's exactly what I am worried about! I just hope everything turns out okay!

    Oh and @Sass.....LMBO!! I bet that will be the last wedding they crash! That would be so funny, but then I would end up feeling bad for them eating saltines....lol! (Maybe not.....depends on how I'm feeling) Smiley smile

    I only had one uninvited guest show up. It was my husbands alcoholic uncle. They let him out of the hospital (he had alcohol poisoning the night before) and he asked the taxi to drop him off at a "family wedding." He showed up as the dancing was starting and my bil (bm) came up to me and warned me and I noticed him lingering by the gifts and cards and I instantly made my big guy friends from college go over and remove the gifts/cards so he wouldn't be tempted. Then he proceeded to hit on the girls. I kicked him out (dress and all..I was livid) and he ended up hanging out on the deck with my husband's family (they weren't inside hardly at all..they are chain smokers and apparently couldn't stop long enough to enjoy the wedding) and at the end of the night he was passed out drunk on a couch and I called the cops on his stupid ass. :-) That's what he gets. Punk.

    Lol...Oh my goodness, gurl u did the right thing! That's just ridiculous....I would have kicked him out too! Some people don't have any respect for other's (which pisses me off, especially at someone's wedding acting a butt) Well, I bet he enjoyed the rest of his night behind them good ole bars...smh
