My FH and I were thinking about changing the date of our wedding due to a scheduling conflict of sorts. There is a concert that we were both wanting to go to that is on the same day of our wedding. However, it starts at 6pm the same day. So I thought maybe we should change the date, I discussed it with my MOH. My FH was worried that there wouldn't be enough time because he was under the impression that WE would have to stay behind and clean up after our wedding. Once I convinced him that the cleaning up is going to be taken care of, it all worked out. So we are keeping the date and having the wedding slightly earlier. I let my MOH know the date is the same. Come to find out now there is a conflict with her, her sister is throwing her nephew's 3rd b-day party on the same day, around the same time. She can't be in 2 places at once. I hate to make her choose. If she can't be there and be my MOH then so be it but at the same time... (continued)

I know, changing the title of my ridiculous thread will obviously fool them. Ridiculous yesterday - ridiculous today. Slipknot was awful yesterday - awful today.

I feel like such an asshole and I usually don't like jumping into drama threads to poke the bear, but changing the title has done nothing but get Cyndi Lauper stuck in my head...

Hahahah I thought this was a new thread that already had over 100 comments. Apparently OP just changed the title for no reason? Okkkkk.

Oh she has a reason. She's being super passive aggressive and letting us all know we're super bitches trying to pass ourselves off as nice.

@Mrs. A & J I hoped I wasn't the only one thinking that. I couldn't decide if she was trying to say the MOH's true colors came through or everyone on WW since she didn't get the feedback she was looking for.

WOW. I must admit I'm really truly surprised to see people's reactions here… Not everyone really ranks their wedding as the ultimate event in their life, what a surprise. If the couple want to plan a wedding around other things they want to do, and they're happy with that decision, then who is anyone to call them crazy or ridiculous? My partner and I get crapped on all the time for not making our wedding a big deal, but we're totally fine with having a small affair and prioritising other things, so why does anyone else have the right to judge us on their scale of what's right or wrong or crazy or normal? I'm disappointed nobody said to this bride that if she and her fiancé could do it, then make it work! No, moving their wedding time doesn't give them the right to dictate other people's schedules (ie, child's birthday party) and they will survive whether or not the MOH can attend. I'm sure their own families and friends know them well enough – better than anyone online here – to understand that they are the type of people who would hit up a Slipknot concert after their own wedding.. So why not!? To each their own and do whatever makes you happy. I wish Rhea and her future husband all the best. /end rant

    Question: Am I being ridiculous

    Overwhelming answer: Absofuckinglutly

    Welcome to the internet.

Jesus....she asked if she was being ridiculous asking her MOH's sister to move her child's birthday party. I don't know what's unclear. Yes, it's ridiculous to ask someone who is not invited to a wedding that the B&G themselves don't seem to care that much about to move her child's party. If she's not taking her wedding all that seriously, that's fine. She can do whatever the hell she wants. But you can't expect other people to take your wedding seriously enough to screw with out of town relatives of a child who matters a lot more to them than the friend of the aunt of the child if you are willing to move your wedding to go to a concert.

I think OP finally realized her true colors!

My personal opinion on the subject is OP is being beyond ridiculous to get upset about MOH not being able to come to the "changed time"

The MOH could fire back and be mad that the OP is changing the time so last minute...I think this is all just beyond crazy but hey it made for a great Monday and start of a Tuesday for meSmiley smile

It's ridiculous to change the time of your wedding and not expect people to make other plans that day.

Did I really just read that all correctly? Just change the date entirely then everyone will be happy and you can go to your concert.

@Alyshadanielle LOL that's the lyrics of one of those songs (it starts with "I push my fingers into my eyes)

I actually like Slipknot too. Not my favourite band but I don't mind listening to them every now and then. BTW, this thread reminds me of the Friends episode where someone's FH hired Carcass to play at their wedding and Phoebe is thrilled lol.
