too plain??? decorating own wedding dress?

Carol, on July 7, 2011 at 11:51 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 100

OK girlies...

My best friend just bought her dress yesterday, just this one here: http://tinyurl.com/67vx2cn ! but... online she loved it and it was the third time she tried it on when at a store shop .. cuz she said she want to make sure it was the one of course...

Her only hesitations now were that it may be too plain.. but i was thinking less is more thing etc

anyways, her sis and mum saying that its really plain, and now she was worried what everyone will be thinking at the wedding,

how can i help her spice the dress up a bit?? She dont like much bling (plus its a garden wedding) but LOVE lace and pearls...

HELP us!! Thx in advance.

I personally think it looks perfect. but one idea if she wants to add something is get some jewelry with alil bling, and maybe a veil with some lace on the edge?

I think she should buy 7 more from that site... after all, they are all cheap knock offs... so she can afford 7 more. She can pick one with pearls, and one with lace. One with sleeves, One that is strapless....

Did you see the Disney post that was just started??? I think she should get that one too!!!

I was actually looking at that dress and it is BEAUTIFUL in person!!! Don't change anything!!!! Add some bling! a nice necklace- maybe a bracelet and a little bling in her hair- that's it! Nothing to the dress!

Carol ~ Did you get to go to the store with your friend one of those 3 times she tried it on????

    Who is it by???

*edit* thanks Edith, I know it is a Maggie.

    - copied incase people don't read the whole post -

For example... this dress can be found on ebay for less than $200

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Maggie-Sottero-RONI-J1226-Iv-Size-6-NEW-LOOK-/150600045932

yes it is a stock sample, and has been tried on, but I'm sure the store cleaned and repaired any beadwork. OR you can go to a bridal shop and ask who they get their dresses cleaned by. It would cost about the same as the knock off to get this dress and clean it (if needed) than buy a CHEAPLY MADE knock off.

I understand that some can't afford their dream dress, but I am trying to make a point that there are better ways to buy your dress that are not from cheap knock off sites.

I thought my dress was a bit plain, so I added a blinged out sash. It provided a pop of color and made my dress look less "conventional" which is what I wanted, yet keeping it classy Smiley smile

Perfect dress. Adding a nice necklace would help take the plain out. If she still feels that way. But I think that is a beautiful dress.

This website could be a nice option though if you want to do one of those "trash the dress" photoshoots!

Hayley, That was the first time i gone to the store with her. It just seems simple but not tacky i think... However, when her sis and mum saying that its really plain an not stunning, she was really worried what everyone will be thinking at the wedding..

    IMO, Never plain, never plain
