Hey ladies, so I'm relatively new to the whole posting thing but here goes. My FH and I are getting married June 17th on the beach in Lake Tahoe and now that I've graduated and am done with school for a while I have time to finish planning the wedding which means I've had a lot of time to think...

Hey ladies, so I'm relatively new to the whole posting thing but here goes. My FH and I are getting married June 17th on the beach in Lake Tahoe and now that I've graduated and am done with school for a while I have time to finish planning the wedding which means I've had a lot of time to think about the details and start second guessing myself...

Having said that I'd like to get your guys' opinions on the dress, I almost feel now that it's too much for a wedding on the beach. This may be the stress talking, but I'd love to get some feedback (too big etc.)

Jaemi thanks for the advice definitely the kind of attitude I strive to have.

Sharon, yeah I'm definitely wearing flats, and if people think I'm nuts at least I'll look good doing it Smiley smile

Thank You Rachael!! I love your dress too and think you looke stunning in it. So yeah if your going to have fun and trash it anyways then I wouldn't worry about it. Look the way you want to look and have fun with it.

I really love this dress and it looks great on you!! I can see you like it too! Typically beach wedding dresses are simply but if you feel good in it I wouldn’t care! Maybe you can walk down a runner depending on where you’re getting married.

Yeah we are getting married at the Zephyr Cove Resort, the ceremony is on the beach and then you walk up to the tent kind of in the trees with a grassy area and a little stage for the DJ/Band. Could be the same place Smiley smile

Thanks Andrene, getting outside opinions definitely helps put my mind at ease

I love your dress and feel that it is the perfect combo for a beach wedding, but everyone will have their opinions. If you feel pretty & amazing in the dress then it is the dress for you! Who cares what is "best for a beach wedding"! I will tell you right now if you are still looking at dress styles, stop! It will only confuse you, and possibly make you wish you had a different dress.

We are doing a beachy wedding on the cliffs above the ocean. So it is backyard style. I have this huge long train (which I didn't want to begin with), but it is what I found that I wanted, in the price range I could afford. Here is a link for pics:

I am going to see how much it is to take the train off completely, I know *gasp*. It is gorgeous, but I don't really care about it. So, if it isn't too much it goes, and if it is it will stay.

Your dress is perfect and you are stunning in it! Smiley smile

    Rock-n-roll bride,

See that's all that matters is that you love it! I've already bought the dress (luckily the sample fit so I got it for 50% during the sale) so whether I like it or not I'm stuck with it, good thing I like it Smiley smile

your dress is absolutely beautiful, train and all! But yeah if you can live with out the train and it's not too much to take off I say go for it, one less thing to worry about getting dirty, stepped on, etc.

It's a beautiful dress and would look gorgeous in your beach photos. I say screw it and wear the thing, if it gets a little sand on it so what, people should be looking at you and your husband, not at the bottom hem of your dress.

I would wear it on the beach! Just keep it bustled. If you feel it's too formal, you can balance it a little by keeping accessories simple and natural. A simple flower in your hair instead of a big veil or headpiece, for example.

    Very pretty!

I would go with your dream dress. If you want the location to be part of the decision, picking something that has the 'beachy' feel to it without being too 'simple' is fine too.

I think it's fine for a beach wedding-good choice Smiley winking

@Rosie, yeah after all the encouragement I'm feeling way better, and just need to remind myself that as long as I like it that's all that matters.

I think the dress looks great on you and if that is THE dress then it will look perfect on the beach! We are thinking doing a beach wedding and I am not going to base my wedding dress shopping on that, If I feel great in the dress then it's going to look great on the beach! Just keep in mind, the heavier dresses do get hotter quicker, so your legs may get a little sweaty while you're outside, but none the less - if you love the dress, I think you should totally rock it!
